NJBasstard Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Went out tonight and only managed to get one dink within the first couple hours. Decided to stay after dark anyway to see if the bite turned on and managed to hook into this chunker fishing a black jitterbug. Of course being by myself I had a hard time getting a descent picture to show its size & I turn on my scale to weigh her and my batteries are starting to die. Anyways she measured 21" and it's going to bug me not knowing how much she weighed as it may have been my PB. 2 Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted July 30, 2014 Super User Posted July 30, 2014 4lbs easy.... Maybe more 1 Quote
TingTingEightSix Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 There are length to lb charts available online if you Google them. They might not be completely, down ro the ounce accurate, but I believe they are pretty reliable. 21 inches on a healthy bass is no doubt a 4 pounder at least, and depending on other factors, could push 5. A 4 lb bass is a very nice catch and I can only hope to ever catch one that big. Quote
VAHunter Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Very nice catch. In my area a fish that measures 21" is going 5+ easy (unless it's very skinny). That fish looks healthy. Again, nice fish. Quote
kikstand454 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Yeah, I'm going to go with 4+ and would fully support you telling everyone 5. Lol. Nice fish! Congrats! 1 Quote
NJBasstard Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Thanks you all. My PB is 5lb 4oz caught on a shallow square bill that fish wasn't quite as long but had a lot of girth. This one had the biggest mouth of any bass I've ever caught & fought hard! 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted July 30, 2014 Super User Posted July 30, 2014 Great topwater fish. Quote

NJBasstard Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Thanks again for the kind remarks. Only got out for a couple hours tonight managed to get a few with the biggest being a 3lber. Having a hard time thinking about anything but fishing after last night though. I need more fish that size! Quote
