iceman11 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Going to fish Truman Lake this weekend! Anybody got advice for this lake? Quote
BiteFiend Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 It's been 6 or 7 years since I have been down there so I am afraid I won't be able to offer too much help. I do recall many, many points that looked like they would hold fish but had a lot of trouble finding fish there. Your profile pic caught my attention since it looks like an older picture of Memorial Stadium (but is hard to tell). Just thought I'd say GBR if it was. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 29, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 29, 2014 Go somewhere else. The fluctuating water levels out there has made it about impossible to get onto any kind of solid pattern and the fish seem to be in a constant funk. Last time I was there was last fall and the best pattern was to catch a fish on a bait and put it away. During our practice day I caught 3 keepers on a 1/2oz black brush jig with a blue sapphire trailer. 2 days later during the tournament they wouldn't touch the jig. I caught both of our keepers, 1 on a 7" slammer and one on a one knocker spook, that was good enough for 3rd place. Flat points with standing timber were best for us and most fish were in 1-5 feet of water. I also broke off a big fish the last 15 minutes of the tournament on a 7" stick O rigged with a 1/4oz weight. We mainly fished up the Grand arm. 1 Quote

This place is a gar pit and is very inconsistent. We actually have a club Tourney down there this Saturday and I am not the least bit excited. Fishing is slow I got three keepers pre fishing this last Sunday and the biggest was a 3.5 pounds whcih was caught on a black and blue jig with a watermelon chigger craw. And the other two on weightless sticks. 1 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted August 3, 2014 Super User Posted August 3, 2014 I would try for cat or crappie. Waste of time for bass. 1 Quote
