im looking at the st Croix triumph (5 foot six, ul, 2 piece) and the shimano convergence(5 foot, ul, 1 piece). I have heard problems with durability on the triumph, but the convergence is much cheaper and Im not sure if it is very high quality. I want this for stream trout ( here in CO,  stream trout does not mean small trout, just small stream). Im on a budget and 100 is really my limit, Whitch do you recommend?

This rod is a step above the Convergence, and much better, in my opinion. I think it's a pretty good step above the Triumph too. It has been discontinued for a new model, so you can save some money off full price. It's usually about $109, if I remember right. I have the same rod and love it.

For 100 bucks I would go with St Croix 5' UL Premier, very light and responsive and extremely sensative this would be the one I would go with if I only had 100 dollars,   http://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-premier-spinning-rods.html  this would be the one I would go with if I only had 100 dollars, but for only 40 bucks more you can't beat the Avid with it's lifetime warranty I am very happy with my ULF 5' Avid.  http://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-avid-avs-series-spinning-rods.html
