Try it and maybe you'll like it don't just go off other people's words.... I've personally used it before and it sucks. It doesn't swim straight, poorly constructed, weak plastic, terrible hooks Quote
greentrout Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Learn how to use something like a Bass Assassin and you won't be tempted by something like this again. Old school basser... Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted July 28, 2014 Super User Posted July 28, 2014 I've personally used it before and it sucks. It doesn't swim straight, poorly constructed, weak plastic, terrible hooks Well to each their own, I have yet to try it so I have no opinion. Quote
bankguy315 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I've personally used it before and it sucks. It doesn't swim straight, poorly constructed, weak plastic, terrible hooksthe banjo minnow is not designed to swim straight it is a bait to jerk and create an erratic action. and they work, this was the only bait I used two summers ago and absolutely slayed them. but as said before to each his own. I'll take the minnow all day. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted July 28, 2014 Super User Posted July 28, 2014 For 2 months straight of bass fishing..... There's no way I'd choose a 4oz castmaster spoon... Banjo Minnow all the way. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted July 28, 2014 Super User Posted July 28, 2014 Oh shoot... I didn't see the 4OZ part, I change my answer to banjo minnow! Haven't used ethier before though Quote
JaxBasser Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Pass on the 4oz spoon. That's basically worthless in the waters I fish. Banjo by default. Quote
plumworm Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 4 oz. Kastmaster or Banjo Minnow? "Tilt", "Default", "Goofy", " What in the heck are you asking", " not a answerable question", " I need to come up for air after that one" None of the above. Quote
Super User tcbass Posted July 28, 2014 Super User Posted July 28, 2014 At my cabin we tried everything we normally use and didn't catch anything. My friend said he had a banjo minnow and let me use it after he caught a few fish. I caught some fish and couldn't believe it. He said don't lose it, it's my only one. Well, then I went and lost it in a tree. I bought my own pack a few years ago and caught some bass on it. The Banjo minnow is a lot like a Zoom Fluke. I'd go with the minnow no doubt. Quote
BiteFiend Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Given the choices, I'm thinking I might have better luck with my bare hands. Actually maybe I can knock bass out temporarily by hitting them with that 4oz spoon upside the head, THEN use my bare hands to scoop them up. Lol Actually I remember asking for and getting the original banjo minnow for my 12th birthday after becoming so sold on their effectiveness by their info-mercials. Really seemed like the best lure ever when you're 12. I caught a few fish on them but man it was such a pain to keep track of all those little rubber bands. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 28, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 28, 2014 I used to have some banjo minnows and caught a ton of fish on them, of course they were about the only bait I owned so that had something to do with it. 1 Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 4oz spoon. It would help me use my muskie rod more. Quote
