Got on the water at about 7AM and it was overcast and windy so I wanted to toss a top water first, well with all the buzz bait threads lately I decided I'd give it a go. I tied on a rage craw dipped it in some JJs and started slaying them! Then I ran out if rage craws so I started using zoom speed craws and it worked well.

These are the two biggeat , both caught on green pumpkin rage craws with claws dipped in chartresue worked like a buzz bait around grass lines and pads. Haven't weighed them yet, man they may not look big but they can't be far from my PB

Nice bass!

Too bad I've never caught anything on an actual buzzbait, but I have caught them by using soft plastics like buzzbaits on surface

Yea that's how I caught these, I'd rather use a soft plastic as a buzzbait anyways... Especially around the thicker stuff I was fishing in today, it just comes through the junk great. Its just really important IMO when doing this to skin hook your baits or you'll lose more fish

Skin hook?

Texa - pose, skin hook, whatever you wanna call it haha

Its just where when you texas rig your baits you push the hook all the way out the other side and barely tuck it back in the bait, that way when the fish bites your bait the hook pops out of the bait by itself and its easier to get a good hook set.

The Pit Boss and Papa Pit Boss are both great surface buzzing plastics when rigged weighless. Plus they're durable and cheap!

Nice fish too! That's 2 more bass than I've caught on topwater in about 2 months  :eyebrows:

Today didn't go near as good as yesterday, but still caught a few, this was the biggest so no hawgs sadly but he was caught on a buzz bait too!

I got probably 15 strikes at the top water but couldn't hook up, im sure some were chain pickerel too.

I love to see bass blow up on topwater lures, specially buzzbaits.sometimes if the water is clear enough you can see it chase it before it ambushes it. Awesome stuff.

Nice catch!! You say those may not be big, but I guarantee you a fisherman in a tournament wouldn't mind a live well full of bass just like those two.
