dam0007 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Hey I stated awhile back I got a lews CF300 spinning reel. It works pretty good but it only fits on one of my rods. The foot where it sits in the reel seat is twice the thickness and about 3/4 of a inch longer than standard Shimano. So some of my rods won't lock down all the way. Anyhow prob won't use it for freshwater because of that. Was thinking about sticking it on one of my inshore rods. It feels just like the Battle I had, very rigid frame, giant bail arm etc. prob made in same building in China. Have any of you guys used Lews in saltwater? Did it hold up or crap out after a few outings? Lews directly doesn't recommend salt use but then again only a handful of reels do. For what I paid i think $40. If it does crap out after a month and I get 3 stripers off it I'll be happy lol *edit underlined the question Quote
dam0007 Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Surprised no one commented any how. To play it safe and not ruin a reel, I ordered from a local guy a a Fin Nor Lethal lt40. Never used the brand before but gonna give if a try. Have heard lots of good things about this reel from some local salt guys. 1 Quote

Ones alloy, ones brass. I dont think it will make a difference for me. Cant wait to pick it up from my local shop after work today Quote
