CDMeyer Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 The lake I fish has so much wild rice it is not funny. I always hear fish splashing way deep in there. I have had some bits on frogs fishing the weed line, I have caught a lot of fish using a swim jig around the weed lines as well. I was just wondering what are other ways to fish these areas? Quote
DILLY07 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 I would start off with Flipping and Pitching. Thats just me. I would do beaver style bait. Quote
RAMBLER Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Depends on how dense the rice/grass is. Try a weedless silver minnow. Quote
Super User WRB Posted July 25, 2014 Super User Posted July 25, 2014 Wild rice grows in water less the a foot deep. You are better off fishing the edges and open pockets or look for cabbage or Lilly pad beds. Tom 1 Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted August 11, 2014 Super User Posted August 11, 2014 Go duck hunt there when it's cold Quote
FrogFreak Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I've heard of people catching a ton of bass up on Leech Lake in MN deep in the Wild Rice using frogs. I think I watched a show where they did it as well. Quote
