You can't go wrong with a shimano or pflueger.  I would get a 30 size pflueger president and save some money.  At $60 it is all I really need.

Im also going to go with the Pfleuger Supreme. My dad and I bought our spinning setups around the same time. I got an Orra SX, and he got the Supreme.... Im still kicking myself. The abu garcia just does not compare.

What would be the best spinning reel to go on my 6,6 med fast action st croix?

There is some good info in the link below. I hope you haven't spent the spring and half the summer without a reel for your rod it would be a shame to miss out on all the good fishing time. ;)

I'd go with either a 20 or 30 sized Pflueger, Abu, or Quantum. Spend as close to the top of your budget and you won't be disappointed!

It doesn't make a whole  lot of difference, buy the one that feels best on your rod and gets an approval from your eye.  Bass are not going put much and and tear a lot on your reels unless you'e catching 10# every single day, if you are then spend more than a $100.

...but maybe a 20lb drum, or 25lb pike, or 40lb musky.   I was a boy scout "Be Prepared".

A boy scout would know how to land them on any spinning reel, hehe.   It isn't the brand or the cost of the reel that lands larger fish, it's know how.  20# + fish in Florida is nothing unusually, quite often we catch them on 2-3000 size reels.  Match the reel to the rod and the target species, when that 30# fish hits, that's game on.  Actually that's what I'm hoping will happen.

One more vote for a Pflueger President.  I have owned mine for 3 years and have no issues with it.
