paul25 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 What is the difference between 455khz and 800khz in the down imaging Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 22, 2014 Super User Posted July 22, 2014 800 kHz has less depth capability, less coverage width, but produces sharper images. Quote
paul25 Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Ok thanks so i should run the 455 in deeper water ? Quote
Smokinal Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 At what depth would you say 800 is good up to? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 7, 2014 Super User Posted August 7, 2014 If you like what 800 kHz is showing, use that until it doesn't work well, then switch to 455 kHz if you need to. That depth is for you to determine buy learning your unit. Bottom hardness will change the depth capability since a soft bottom will absorb more than reflect sonar pulses. At any point just push the 4-way button to pause the screen scrolling and change the frequency and Sensitivity to choose which shows what you want to see on that particular view. Basically the depth capability is variable as in how deep is deep. I don't use 800 kHz at all. I prefer the wider coverage of 455 kHz in all cases. . 1 Quote
Smokinal Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Thank you Wayne. I have to remember about freezing the screen and making my changes to what looks good...gotta remember that! Quote
