I was fishing at lake Sonoma when a huge bass cuts me off. About 10 minutes later i caught the same fish with my hook still in its mouth!

Yes! I have experienced the same thing in saltwater.

A big redfish broke off and a few minutes later I rehooked and landed that devil and retrieved the hook and cork.

Interesting to read the same thing happened to you in fresh water.

Thanks for sharing.

Never had that happen with a Bass, but I had the same thing happen with a 18" Rainbow.

Was steelhead fishing out in Oregon and caught this steelhead about eight pounds or so.  I was standing in river and didn't want fish so when it got close I clipped the line by the hook that was in it's jaw so would have to stress it out and beach it.  Tied on another glo-bug and next cast caught the same fish with other glo bug in other side of mouth.  Was interesting too as the hooks were barbless.

Fishing partner broke a bass off. A couple cast later he caught same bass with his jig in mouth...one hungry or mad bass!!!

I was fishing the reservoir by my house when I met a guy who said he caught a 25 inch bass, and was going to keep it, so he used his boot lace as a stringer. somehow the fish dislodged the the boot lace from shore and swam off. The guy asked me to hang the shoelace up on the fence near the shore as a trophy if i even catch a big bass with a shoe lace tied to his face.

Thanks for the story.  Ten minutes or so, huh?  I always wondered how long it would take a hooked fish to get back into the game.  Figured the trauma would last more than ten minutes, but have been curious about it.
