Good morning everyone. I'm trying to possibly find a private pond, low traffic area, or just a great spot for me and my 11&9 year old boys to fish. Not trying to put a sob story, but I am disabled. I'm battling Parkinson's disease, fibromyalgia, and a few other ailments. I use a mobile scooter to get around, so my walking is limited. I've fished all my life, and love it. Just started the bass kick, cause of my boys, and it's so addictive!! I don't have a boat, we bank fish mostly, but we'll see. I'm doing all I can physically, but it gets tough at times, but SO WORTH IT!!! That being said, I've got gear, just need places to go, in hampton roads area. Thank you...

While I can't speak to the success rate, all of the Suffolk lakes (Prince/Burnt Mills/Western Branch/Meade/Cohoon) offer shore fishing around the ramp area.  There are also the Lone Star lakes just off Rt. 58.  I understand there can be decent shore fishing there, especially in the spring/fall.  Other than those I would try to knock on doors to request access to private ponds.  Most of those in our area are loaded with fish and generally offer good shore fishing.  Good luck with your search.
