Will Wetline Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Talk about expertise in video making . . . It doesn't get better than this one! Thank you for posting it, Jeremy. Quote
Jeremy pharmareaps Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Yeah I was stunned by the camera work! Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted July 20, 2014 Super User Posted July 20, 2014 I remember watching this video awhile back and I've wanted to try to learn fly rod fishing ever since! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 21, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 21, 2014 Man those are some toads on a fly rod! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted July 21, 2014 Super User Posted July 21, 2014 Great video that i have seen a dozen times probably and could watch a dozen more. Man those are some toads on a fly rod! Curious as to why you would say the "on a fly rod" part. I see it on a lot of different bulletin boards but you never see man that was a toad on a spinning rod or a bait caster.... Quote

Let me try again, Man those are some toads, on a fly rod! I don't have a lot of experience with flyfishing, and I know that big bass can be caught with a fly rod, just isn't something I've seen a lot of as we have very few folks who fly fish around here. They are solid fish regardless of how they were caught though Quote

McAlpine Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Dont know why fly fishing for bass isn't more prevalant as it's a dang hoot. Quote
Jeremy pharmareaps Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I tried fly fishing around this time last year and once I tried for bass I was hooked. Haven't missed a day since: ) well, maybe a day or two... I always bring a spin rod too to have more options. I've seen way more success with the fly but it's probably a mix of luck and confidence Quote
jigabooyah Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Fly rod bass are quite fun, Its just not as versatile. Quote
FrogFreak Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Man, that was a very well made video! I've tried fly fishing for trout in the past but never for Bass.....oh no the bait monkey is calling! Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 24, 2014 Super User Posted July 24, 2014 Great video. Sweet camera work. Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Reminds me of a cool summer rainy day in the beginning of the video. ;-) Quote

PersicoTrotaVA Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I've seen some big bass caught on fly rods around here. Awesome video. They have an international film festival for fly fishing videos. They have some of the best cinematography I have ever seen in any movie. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted July 25, 2014 Super User Posted July 25, 2014 My first bass fishing was done with a fly rod. Quite a few guys in my smallmouth club are fly rodders. After fishing with some of those guys who are very, very good fly fishermen, I quit using a fly rod altogether. To me, it's a huge pain. Not the easiest thing to learn, and a lot of extra work for what is often not the best tool if you are trying to put fish in the boat. There are a lot of extra challenges and you have to be into it more for that than if catching fish is your first priority. It's not for everybody. Quote
notevenanibble Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 great video. i'd love to get on bass like that with my fly rod. i really need to step my casting up. Quote
