Super User tcbass Posted July 20, 2014 Super User Posted July 20, 2014 I've been using a KVD Swim Jog with a KVD Rodent as a trailer. Some suggested that that's not the best trailer since it doesn't have the best swimming action and I've only been catching fish on the drop. A swim Senko as a trailer was recommended as where some other trailers that I've never heard of. I was just wondering what trailers some other people use. What trailers do you use for your swim jigs? RossCo91 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I use a Damiki Grub myself. But I look for a bait that gives off high vibration with its action.I'd actually love to know if this is the right logic. Quote

I found this interesting.....anyone else try rigging a trailer vertically? I can see it possibly working on a swim jig; and maybe even a chatterbait or spinnerbait.....probably not on a 'regular' jig, I suppose Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted July 22, 2014 Super User Posted July 22, 2014 They are a good small company. I know i had a request for a custom stick bait that had a harder head section for nose hooking because the baits would get torn up so quick. He double dipped the head in clear plastic to hold the hook better and they were awesome. Only cost me a few bucks extra too but now one bait can last me 10-12 fish rather than 1 or 2. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted July 22, 2014 Super User Posted July 22, 2014 I never really thought of them as pricy since they are about .75 a piece but they are more expensive than a grub or something along those lines and i personally don't mind supporting a smaller company with a good product in most cases too. I am slo not even sure that a trailer makes a huge difference on a swim jig as long as something is on there because i have tried without and don't seem to do as well. Quote

I haven't tried on a spinnerbait or chatterbait, but I should work, all three of the rigs are pretty much the same thing. Quote
