Hey guys so I am looking at getting some new square bills. I have been throwing Lucky Craft RTO 1.5, but I broke the bill on one today, and wouldnt mind trying something else that would be a little easier on the wallet. Would you say any of these preform as well as the RTO does? Also if it matters all my local lakes are wood or rock cover, we don't really have much vegetation to rip it through. Im mainly looking for the 0-5ft diving range. Also if you think a square bill I did not list would be a better choice please post it! Thanks!

Thanks for the idea. I saw that crank earlier and liked it, but I wasnt sure about how it would behave if I was burning it being that it is a flat crank? I typically just burn my square bills crashing them into as much cover as I can. I read somewhere before that flat bodied cranks were more for slower retrieves and may struggle to have the right action with a faster retrieve. I have never tried it for myself. How do you usually fish it?

I agree with you on flat sided cranks.   I like them when the water is colder and I can fish them slower.  Any of the baits you mention should be worth trying out.  I prefer XCalibur XCS sq bills for cheaper baits.  If you have an Academy close by the H2O Xpress sq bills are great for the money also.

Ill look into the Xcalibur ones thanks! I unfortunately dont have an Academy close by, but would love it if there was one. All of their baits I have came across were great.

Academy H20 baits are what I use a majority of the time anymore. With a lot of our lakes having zebra mussels now, it hurts a lot less to lose a $4 bait than a Lucky Craft, plus they're good baits that catch fish :)

I did start fishing the X75 very early on in cold water.  A slow crawl worked very well.

But as the season has progressed I've continued to throw it and it just continues to catch.

I am very impressed with this (and all) the 6th sense baits.

To answer your question, since the bait is flat sided and runs tight as opposed to a wide wobble, you can defiantly burn it right along.  One of my favorite features of the bait is the "Subtle" but distinct knocker in the bait that attracts with out spooking fish in clearer water.
