DT6 4 days Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Just wanted to know what the best spinning combo for crankbaits! Quote
Super User Marty Posted July 18, 2014 Super User Posted July 18, 2014 There is no "best." There are general recommendations, but many anglers defy that conventional wisdom by using based on personal preference. Some of that wisdom might say fiberglass, some says moderate to slow action and line with some stretch. Many fishermen use graphite, fast action and braid, which has little to no stretch. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 A fairly soft graphite rod, 6 gear spinning reel and braid is what i use most of my crankbaits on. But then again, If i had a baitcast cranking rod i would use that. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted July 19, 2014 Super User Posted July 19, 2014 I use this set up for small crankbaits if the conditions call for it other wise I use baitcasters. St.Croix Avid 6' ML Fast and a Shimano Stradic FE2500. This set gets the job done for a lot of finesse and light crankbaits. It very versatile when it comes to anything 3/8 of an ounce and under.
