GGerod81 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Tom! When you fish those luck craft pointer's in Sciver are you running those parallel along the banks on wind blown banks? I have done really well with those in the spring in Manor, however I have little to no luck on those in Sciver. I have little confidence with jerkbaits in Sciver due to the rapid drop along the shorelines, I am heading out this weekend for a few hours. on Saturday and maybe the afternoon on Sunday with the wife. if you guys see a Red Tracker and a bearded american male with a bandana come over and say Hi! haha. Also has anyone had the testicular fortitude to toss the 10XD by strike king yet? I purchased a few from Bass Pro, now I just need a rod that can cast a 2.4 oz lure haha. Tight Lines Guys! Quote
KrazyKarl99 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Glad to hear that the bass are in s Sciver. I've only been lucky in Morrisville lake. Any color lure that works better than others? Quote
DelcoSol Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I'll be on sciver tomorow. Tracker 165 here. Quote
HardcoreBassin Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 Ill be pn sciver too. Red stratos 275xl. Quote
HardcoreBassin Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 A little windy out there today... Quote
DelcoSol Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I was out today. Before the wind got a few pickerel and some dinks. Best fish went for around 3 pounds on a white chatterbait. I have a tournament on the flats in the wind tomorrow. Should be interesting. 1 Quote
GGerod81 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Got out this Saturday and Sunday, fished from 1600 to 1800 Saturday and found a nice school of walleye's, landed one that was over 8pd's. Today I was out from 0800 till 1500. Landed two over 4pd's and a couple dinks. The numbers are down from years past, but the quality of the fish are excellent Quote
bassguytom Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I was out on Saturday and got 3 nice ones on a spook. I got 6 dinks on a creature bait. I was out early today and only managed 2 dinks before I gave up due to the wind. Nice work finding them in the wind. I do well on The pointer "sexy Chartruse shad" on Van Sciver running the banks. I really had to learn to slow it down and fish it on a slack line. Less is more in cold water. Quote

HardcoreBassin Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Anyone been on the water this week yet? How are the lakes/ the bite looking? Quote
HardcoreBassin Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 I was out on Manor this morning. I didnt realize it but today they had their duck season restrictions on the lake, so the areas to fish were limited. I fished in the main channel mostly. I hit the docks and lily pads with jigs, square bills and chatter baits. Did really well with the chatterbait. It was my first time fishing one, so that built my confidence in the lure a little bit. Got a few small bass, pickerel, and a nice 3.5lber. The bite stopped around 11. The water was about 60 and the bait fish were schooling all over. I'm hoping to head out tomorrow afternoon for a bit, but I'll how I feel tomorrow about fighting the 20-30 mph winds. Quote
KrazyKarl99 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Anyone know how to get a visitors pass for Monday when the office is closed? Quote
HardcoreBassin Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Anyone know how to get a visitors pass for Monday when the office is closed? There is a mail slot next to the garage door at the office. Put the guest fee in an envelope with your name and member number. I think the fee is $7.50 Quote
KrazyKarl99 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks for the info. We pulled up and a guard was there. He filled out a pass and now I just need to put the $$ in the door slot within a week or they will mail me a bill with interest. Ha ha! Was on Sciver from 11am till 4:30pm. Landed 4 perch and a 18 inch pike. Found 4 carp floating belly up. The water is still like pea soup. Does anyone know if this type algee is healthy for the fish? I'm pretty sure some types of algee can cause problems. Quote

I'm pretty sure some types of algee can cause problems. I think the algae kicked up from the wind we had over the weekend. I could be totally wrong. I saw 2-3 carp dead in the water on Sunday too. Not too sure what is going on there. Quote
KrazyKarl99 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Hey everyone! I just spoke to the club house and they were not aware of the numbers of fish that were seen dead. Please let them know if you spot dead fish and what area they were spotted in. The problem could be caused from the algee. Quote

bassguytom Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Guys, I was on Van Sciver today a got 4 bass. All on a slow rolled spinnerbait. They would not hit anything else. Tried jerks, jigs, blades and cranks. Could have sunk the boat with perch on the blade bait. The carp kill was smelly in spots also. Good luck Quote
