Brock Grigsby67 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I have a chance to buy a 14 foot Jon boat with a deck and a swivel seat in the back for $400. Oh it also has a trailer. Is that a good deal? The only draw back is there no motor. Quote
BG RTR Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 What does a similar one with a motor run? U could them price things out and get an idea of its worth as is. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted July 18, 2014 Super User Posted July 18, 2014 Take the boat out to the water. If the trailer tires and lights are good, that's a good sign. If the boat floats and doesn't leak, that's also a good sign. Well worth the money under those conditions. 1 Quote

Dinky Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 x2x3 You can do a lot with it if it is sound to begin with. Quote
curtis9 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 How wide is the boat? If it's too narrow the casting deck may be rather unstable and not worth using. My first boat was a 1432 and it was tough fishing with 2 guys sitting on the seats. I couldn't imagine getting on a casting deck in that boat. Quote
