Zach P Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 What is everyone excited about that is going to be released? I'm really interested in the new Shimano Crucial rods. It's nice that they brought back the cork in both split grip and full cork grip handles. I have a feeling these rods are going to be sweet! Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 New rods and reels from Abu look cool. So does the new Strike King lures. Namely the 1.5 shallow. 1 Quote
bradc36 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Multiple new Lew's reels and rods, Strike King 1.5 and 8.0, Kopper's live target lures yearling series, new products from Reins and YUM, new veritas... ...and can't forget the new Duckett micro magic pro rod and ironsilk line from Berkley! Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 Rods mainly, for me....nothing exactly yet, but Iam sure in the coming days and weeks I will have a better ideal. Quote
ThatZX14Fella Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I may sound like an idiot, but what is ICast? I've been seeing a lot about it and I'm guessing it's like E3 for gamers where they show a preview of all their new products coming out within the next year. Quote

Yeah the new 1.5 and 8.0 models should be sweet, I'm also pretty excited for the new upgraded Lew's reels since they are such a great reel manufacturer. I almost forgot about the new Reins products until you mentioned it here, the new Reins football tungsten weight looks awesome! Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 The new VMC Swinging hook Rugby Jig! NICE!!! 1 Quote

Yep, it's pretty much the e3 of fishing. 1 Quote
Basspro87 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 The new VMC Swinging hook Rugby Jig! NICE!!! Looking forward for more brands of swing jig heads Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 Strikeking has a new swing head jig/ hook..looks nice, as well as I don't remember the company, but a another poster said a tungston football head for like T rig or C rig.... Something I thought would be nice a long time ago.... Strikekings got some nice finishes coming again, they are really getting it done ( crank baits ) lately pretty neat stuff, enought to bankrupt a guy! Quote
Crankinstein Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 The new lures are always my favorite at icast. Spro has some cool stuff coming out. Their new BBZ rat wake bait won best in show and they also have a large little john coming out. My favorite from them is probably going to be the rock crawler crankbait they revealed which is essentially a Spro wiggle wart. Lucky Craft has a jitterbug type bait with a glow in the dark insert that looks interesting. Zman has a topwater shad popper made out of their plastic that looks nice. Megabass has a swimbait that has magnets that hold the hooks up against the bait, no word on price on that one but given the nature of large swimbaits shouldn't scare anyone away if it happens to be high. Savage gear has several new hard and soft baits that all look good. This year has one of the best selections of new baits IMO. The bait monkey is gonna have some real fun when all these baits hit the shelves. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted July 22, 2014 Super User Posted July 22, 2014 As far as reels go I'm looking forward to the new quantum smoke reels. Lures I am looking forward to the Sebile's Pivot Frog, cuz I am a big frog guy, and I am looking forward to the new soft body crank bait, thing is going to be a problem if it's done right. Not sure the name of the company who is releasing it but I bet one of the bigger companies will buy them out, I hope it's Strike King love their crankbaits and colors they offer. Quote

Fishing Cop Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I was at Academy Sports recently and the fishing guy said the depth finders usually go down in price after Icast. Is this true? Quote
Hogsticker Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Yo Zuri is bringing it with the second generation 3D baits. I've caught countless fish on the original 3D vibe and minnow Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 23, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 23, 2014 I was at Academy Sports recently and the fishing guy said the depth finders usually go down in price after Icast. Is this true? Yes, like all electronics, by the time something is a couple months old there's already something bigger and better out there. This was the best Icast in the last few years IMO. Spro Rat and rock crawler Savage gear bottom hook 3D trout and a 6" 3D trout SK shallow running 1.5 and the 8.0 Storm Arashi wake bait several others I can't think of but those are the baits I'll most likely own as soon as they come out. Zach P Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 I will add that this Icast has so much to offer for the remainder of this fishing season and into the winter and spring. I can't remember the last time I was overly excited for so many new products from an Icast convention. Seems like all of the big companies I use for both hard baits and soft plastics have something new that is very appealing! Just to name a few that I think are going to kill it... -Spro Rock Crawler and Little John XL -Yum drop shot, flipping, and punching baits -Multiple new Lew's reels -SK KVD 8.0 -New Shimaon Crucial Cork Rods (Even though I primarily use Powell these look tempting to try out) -Reaction Innovations Twerk trailer -New Missle Baits D Bomb Colors -Not that the hooks themselves are new but VMC is going to offer value pack hooks now which is nice -VMC Sinker Stops (I currently use 6th sense and have no issue with them but why not try something new at a good price point) -VMC Swinging Rugby Head -New Rapala Ike's Custom Ink colors -New Reins Football Head sliding weight Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Nothing blew me away there that said I HAVE TO HAVE THIS --EXCEPT the blond hotties that were walking around in the booth next isle over. 2 Quote
Cgrinder Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 TW has the custom ink Shad Raps. I own two so far; very nice in person. I want a bag of RI Twerk so I can refer to my jig as Miley. That Hobie 17T has my interest. A bass boat is not practical for me and the girlfriend doesn't want to fish out of a solo kayak. I wonder if it will have room for a Boston Terrier... Quote
