After the winter we went through, I was really looking forward to enjoying this summer fishing. I've been getting out plenty, but the weather has been anything but cooperative.  I can't recall the last time the weather was stable for three days or more.  Not only is finding the fish a task, the weather has been changing two, sometimes three, times a day and after a couple of hours searching and finally catching a few Mother Nature throws another curve ball and I have to adjust.  Coach used to tell us; look for the heat and adjust to the off speed stuff.  Well, I never made it   past A ball and you can likely guess why, so Ms. Nature is really starting to tick me off.

I guess I could look at the glass half full.  After all, I'm not the only one contending with the constant change. But I don't use a glass, so forget that dodo. July has a history of being the best month for me for both numbers and big fish. What's a guy supposed to look forward to in Jan. if she doesn't stop messing around already? This is what happens when we give a woman any kind of power.

Thank you for letting an opinionated old fart blow off some steam and if you agree, I have an extra couch you can sleep on when your wife finds out that you do.

In south Florida we have had 20 out of 22 days of rain. These were not showers but thunder and lightning lasting almost all day.. Its really cutting into my fun time.

If you are fishing Delavan, then you know the fish are there. That's half of the battle.

Some if the very best fishing that I ever had was when the weather was changing. Some of that was on Delavan, too.

(Another old fart who won't ever get to fish Delavan again...((we moved)).)

like Triple H says on WWE: Learn to adapt or perish...

i wouldn't blame it all on the weather. You cant control the weather, but you can control what you do. Adapt!

The last week or so up here in the northeast have been very unsettled. Rain, thunderstorms and wind almost every day. This next week suppose to be better though, with more stable weather.

I feel your pain papajoe222.  I'm just west of chicago and spend some time at lake michigan on the harbors.  Tough time there for everyone I talk to.

Guess everyones different but I mark front coming in.. Ill fish clear blue skies as well but I like unsettling weather.  I fished yesterday afternoon post frontal and landed over 10 fish in a few hours.

Learn to fish in and love all conditions and you'll be much happier when fishing.

Quite true, not that I do much freshwater this time of the year but the the lighting has curtailed my efforts.

The mornings at the ocean have been nothing short of spectacular, getting some nice fish too.

A few have mentioned how they like to fish during fronts.  A little rain is one thing, but a lightning storm is something not to fool with.  Here in Florida with our flat terrene, and surrounded by water, you don't need to stick up high to become a lightning rod.  We have more people killed by lightning in this state then any other state.  When there are signs of lightning, its time to get off the water and seek shelter.  This should be monitory during tournaments.  How foolish to risk a life to catch a fish. :tsk-tsk:

I like fishing in the worst weather. The fishing can be amazing in rain, snow, 10-20 mph winds.  I LOVE fishing rainy days, I catch a lot of big fish in the rain. I have very good luck during days when multiple rain showers/lightning storms move through. If a lightning and thunderstorm comes in I go to shore until it passes then resume fishing.

Fishing down on the South TX coast one time, I walked out on to a pier on a rainy day.

I felt my hair actually rising from my scalp. Realized I was the highest point around on a very, drizzly day. Ducked way down and RAN back to my vehicle.

One of the best days I had offshore was during a squall.  Headed out on a day with 3-5', a squall blows in the waves and wind got to be pretty heavy along with a torrential downpour.  We waited it out, for about an hour the 2 of us had either a kingfish or salifish on the line at all times, the squall ending and so did the bite.

the bass are already wet, they don't care if its raining or not. go get a good rain suit and hit the water!! a buzzbait is an amazing bait in the rain.
