OroBass Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Wow. Just received my tw order of these jigs. They have nice hooks but are made with really cheap skirts and the larger sizes have no trailer keeper. Not impressed strike king. Next time I'll spend a little more and go with seibert. Any body use these jigs? What's your opinions. Quote
5fishlimit Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Throw a paca chunk on there and flip some boat docks. They work just fine. Quote
OroBass Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Ok great I got some fat alburts with em just worrying about them slipping off Quote
JaxBasser Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 My biggest jig bass was caught on one of those. Just over 8lbs. I like them. Quote
Knightiac Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Theyre small but legit jigs. Their skirts are cheap but they look great in the water - hell the jig is only $1.99 in most places. When I am using football head jigs, I use Strike King Tourney Grades and Siebert for everything else. When I want a smaller jig the bitsys are my go to. 1 Quote
OroBass Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Ok great! I'm trying to use a smaller jig for some ponds in my area so these should be perfect. Quote
JThoms38 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok great! I'm trying to use a smaller jig for some ponds in my area so these should be perfect. if your gander mountain has a sale section look for northland jigs they are small with nice skirts and at mine they're only 99cents Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 16, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Get the smallest size zip ties you can find and zip tie the skirts on or they'll fall apart pretty soon. I used to fish them a lot before I started pouring my own jigs, caught a lot of fish on them. Quote
kikstand454 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Bitsy flip and paca chunk= match made in heaven! Quote
quanjig Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 It's a nice little compact jig, I've caught plenty of very nice fish with them, my buddies rag on me when I throw them and refer to them as "half-a-jig" Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 They catch a lot of fish. I wire the skirts on. The 1/2 oz have to be used with chunks, you can't thread a trailer on it. Quote
Super User WRB Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 A jig is only as good as the used to make it, cheap jig cheap hook. Get yourself a good hook hone and keep the hook point sharp. You can nose hook any trailer, pork ring is met to be node hooked! A high quality compact jig, see Skinny Bear jigs. Tom Quote
OroBass Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Thanks Tom! I got 12 bitsy flips from tw. My next order will include some skinny bears. Quote
BadBassWV Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I would love to see Seibert introduce something this small. Quote
stk Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I like these jigs too, nice and small. I use the rage tail baby craw's on them with a couple of sections removed from the tail. Quote
