OroBass Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 Dead because it's getting mounted. This is a huge fish for around here. I caught her on a 5 inch zoom finesse worm on a split shot rig with 12 lb fluorocarbon. She was between two underwater humps in about 8 fow. Not telling exact body of water thanks guys Quote

Super User senile1 Posted July 15, 2014 Super User Posted July 15, 2014 Very nice fish! Congratulations. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted July 17, 2014 Super User Posted July 17, 2014 Very nice fish. Why not take measurements and get a replica mount made? Real skin mounts are expensive and now you can't catch it again when it's bigger. 3 Quote

Sorry, nothing personal, op. This is me being honest. 1 Quote
jtharris3 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Congrats on a very nice catch! Some of you all need to lighten up on him keeping this fish and keep your opinions to yourself. If you wouldn't keep it, so what! Let the OP enjoy his trophy! Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted July 20, 2014 Super User Posted July 20, 2014 Congrats on a very nice catch! Some of you all need to lighten up on him keeping this fish and keep your opinions to yourself. If you wouldn't keep it, so what! Let the OP enjoy his trophy! Since that door was opened, when I was new to this forum I posted pics of me in my kitchen about to clean a few fish including one that was over 5 pounds. I had a few comments saying that I should have thrown it back. After thinking it over I decided I'd rather catch them and throw them back to catch another day. Call it big picture thinking. anyhow if someone hadn't enlightened me to put them back think of the hundreds of fish that wouldn't be able to be caught I see nothing wrong with advising someone to put fish back to preserve our sport... What they want to do with that advise is purely up to them By the way that's a great fish and will make a great mount, post pics after it's mounted. Quote
OroBass Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 I throw tons of fish back lol. Bass around here are not endangered and I harvested her just like a trophy deer! Peoples opinions don't bother me. I care about the species greatly and obey all laws regarding the sport. Replica mounts are not the same. I feel some people forget that LMB are thriving in most waters and the removal of a monster every few years won't hurt anything. Tight lines everyone. 2 Quote

I have mounted 2 big bass but neither are the biggest I have caught. They aren't replicas either. A replica mount is nice but can be very expensive. How much did that sea beast weigh ? Where the heck is Oroville ? Quote
