Super excited about this bait when I first saw the video about them. Was really hoping they'd meet my hopes and expectations, which were both pretty high. I jumped at the chance to pick one up from TW, even though it wasn't exactly the color or sink rate I wanted, the others were out of stock so I went with a dark trout color moderate sink.

First thing that I was impressed with, the packaging. This poor bait did not come to a good part of the world for it to see tons of action. While we have fish big enough to eat the bait, they are few and far between. This means that it will spend time waiting for the right conditions to be fished. Nothing worse than when that time comes and the bait is out of whack from the way it was stored and now it won't swim right. Not going to be a problem with this bait. The rigid plastic package is going to keep it in perfect condition until the time is right. It's also clearly labeled what bait it is, so I can't forget which model I'm grabbing (because there will be more :) )

Second thing, wow this is a beautiful bait! It has a great look and feel, especially for a <$20 bait. It looks like it would swim away if you dropped it in the water.

My first concern was how well the bait will hold up. I've been very disappointed with the last several soft baits I've bought. Spending $10-$25 on a soft bait and having it get destroyed after a fish or two sucks, especially when they weren't even the fish I'm after (dinks). After holding and feeling this bait, I'm confident it's going to withstand the abuse. While it isn't hard or stiff, it feels like it will be very durable. The joints look great too, not too thin but not too thick, and plenty of room for the tail to move and snake through the water. The hook keeper slot is great to prolong the life of the bait as well.

The line through portion was easy to feed the line through and the hook fits snug just in front of where the line comes through on the top of the bait.

Now for the important part, the on the water trial. Did I mention we don't have many fish that will eat a bait this size? Put on top of that most all the bait that the fish are eating right now are smaller because everything has finished spawning not long ago. Still I wanted to put the bait through it's paces.

I was on a private lake in Linn County, KS that I had never fished before but we were catching good numbers of fish and I'd already caught one solid fish on another swimbait when my friend lost a monster so I decided to give it a shot. The water was pretty clear, probably 7-8 feet of visibility, with good populations of smallmouth and largemouth. We were sitting in 10-12 of water and I mainly was working the bait down the edges and fronts of docks, across points, and along the deeper edge of where I could no longer see bottom. I was surprised how easily the bait fished. At 3.5ozs, it's not a huge bait but not a light weight either. I was fishing it on a custom made 7' 10" H/F rod with a 300E Curado and 25lb MCcoy copolymer. It cut through the water with ease and the action was terrific. It looked so realistic that every cast I made I was sure I was going to get bit or have a follow. I fished it pretty hard for about 2 hours and never moved a fish unfortunately. I tried a variety of retrieves, all of which the bait performed flawlessly with. It bumped bottom great and with the top hook it never even began to hang up.

Final grade-A+! I have no doubt this bait is going to produce big fish for me and keep coming back for more! Excited to see some of the new colors and for the price I can try a few different colors :)
