PJBoudzy Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 crankbank. i picked up a crucial for 89.99 at dsg in millbury and there were also verita's on sale to. tight lines Quote
Super User Dan: Posted July 18, 2014 Super User Posted July 18, 2014 I actually didn't have them scan the Crucial. There were a few Mojo Bass with the regular $109.99 on the tag, with the same price on a red sticker next to it. I figured the red sticker was there to show a sale, but when I had the man scan it with his gun, it still came up $109.99. That's because that's not clearance. The sign will say, albeit in small print, that clearance items end with .97 or .47 cent endings. The Mojos at 109.99 might have a red sticker on them but if it doesn't have that clearance .97 or .47 cent ending then it means something else. Quote
crankbank Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Maybe I will have to shoot over to Millbury! Dan:, I realized that after doing some more snooping around in the store. I'm curious as to why some rods are discounted elsewhere but not at every store, maybe only specific models have the extra markdown. Quote
Coherence Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Looks like I shall be taking trip the 25-odd miles to my nearest dicks to investigate this. I could call them I suppose, but the sales associates in there always seem less than helpful unfortunately, Quote
JDJ Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I just picked up a Shimano Sahara 2500 FD on clearance at DSG for $36. Quote
cbass12 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I just picked up a Shimano Sahara 2500 FD on clearance at DSG for $36. Dang!!!!!!! I have picked several of these up over the last two years and I get giddy when I find them for $45. That is a heck of a price on a really quality reel. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted July 19, 2014 Super User Posted July 19, 2014 I picked up the 7' MH Crankbait Crucial Rod today as well. It was with coupons and a $10 reward, only $57. It balances nicely with my Curado. It has a little bit of faster tip than what I like in crankbait rod but it does cast extremely well. On the hook sets though, you have to be careful and kind of be easy going. It is very easy to just rip the crankbait out of the fishes mouth. I lost several fish with it today because of this. It took me awhile to figure out I need to be a little more patient with this rod but overall it will work just fine. 1 Quote
masterbass Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I picked up a crucial spinning 6'10" med/fast which is listed as a jerkbait rod. I used a $10 coupon plus I had a $20 gift card so out of pocket I spent $64. How do you guys feel about these rods? I read a lot of bad reviews about them. I haven't fished it yet, but it definitely is tip heavy. How is the sensitivity? But I figure I can't get a better rod for this price. Quote
Jamesdta Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Thanks just picked up 7'2 mh xf for $79. Not the lightest rod, or best balanced, but for the price I plan on putting it through some punishment. Quote

Fishing Cop Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I noticed today that Gander Mountain put a lot of rods on sale, including the Crucials. Quote
