Lews speed spool laser mg goes for $65 every day on ebay. But, that is a good deal as the rod is an okay rod.

Buying on Ebay sucks. You never know what you're going to get! At least buying from a store you can take something back if it's eff'd up.

Need your assistance gentleman.....looking at the crucial 6' 8" MH F...for topwater, spinnerbaits and possibly dock skipping jigs. Just looking for some input on choosing the topwater version or the jig/worm version (which is XF).

The MH-F would be my choice, a little more forgiving for the spinnerbaits. That rod should do the job

Am I the only one that has DSG that DOES NOT have any fishing gear?

Mine has some......but because of the surburbanites' fascination with running, that's mostly what the stores carry other than other sports parents can blow money on for their kids.

I have 1 buy me that doesn't, a few others with limited and several with huge fishing sections, the Chicago suburbs have a DSG every 5 miles or so

Buying on ebay is fine as long as you have good reading comprehension skills. If the item does not match the sellers description then ebay will refund your money. So unless you can't read, you should know exactly what you are getting. If not, then you get it free.

i think its  safe bet they are clearing stock for the new crucials that will be released. also just fyi veritas are 59.99 online at cabelas...gogo

You think Dicks is clearing out crucials nationwide?

Posted

Went back to DSG yesterday and found three veritas rods for half off the sale price. That's $35 bucks. I bought all of them.

They also had the 7'2" crucial mhf for half off 129. Which is $65. Wow!

I got two veritas instead though.......

Its too bad shipping is so prohibitive- I'd buy it and ship it to someone for cost.

For the fellas on here from Mass, I just swung by the Dick's in Saugus.

They had Crucials priced at $129.99 (no extra discount).  Had a Mojo Bass Casting Swimbait rod that was $82. Some Bandit cranks were $2.50.  Was able to scoop a Lexa 2500 for $71.  On display, they had the Lexa 100 for 74$ but didn't have any in stock and wouldn't sell me the display model....

Didn't have time to get a deeper look around, may swing back later one night this week after work.

Don't ask the sales guys. Theres only two in there that know the fishing section.

I picked one up 3 days ago for 79.99 in saugus. I had a $10 off coupon for doing the survey.

Picked up a 7'2" M/XF and 7'1" ML/F spinning rod for $129 each at BPS today. I'm jealous of you guys finding these rods at dicks for half that price. I've called around to every dicks on the Kansas side of the metro area and have only found one 7'2" MH/F spinning rod which does me no good. At least BPS price matched the cabelas sale price.

I am in Central Pa and I picked up a 6'6" Veritas casting rod for $35 and the store on the other side of the river I got a Lew Speed Stick combo $35. The Speed Spool is the graphite framed model and it is plenty smooth. The rod is a 6"6" IM6 rod with micro guides. For $35 for the combo it's a steal!

apparently there are certain dicks at are doing 50% off clearance for the rods....i went by again today and no luck just 25...hopefully it becomes nationwide soon enough...haha

I just picked up two crucials at DPS. A 6'8" and a 6' 10" for 89.97. Reg price 149.99.

Did they scan the Crucials at the register? It's possible they don't have the Crucials marked but they should be clearance priced nationwide, although there are always a few exceptions. As for the Lexa, have them scan it, if it ends with .97 cent ending then they should sell the display. Ask for a manager if you need to. They may not give you an extra discount besides the clearance promotion but they should sell it to you.

Yes, get them to scan them. Mine was marked on clearance at 119.99 but when I asked him to scan it, it came up to 89.99. He was even unaware of the price change.

I picked up a quantum escalade, 48 ton blank, very clean build micros, I mean a extra 7' rod that's got a nice feel? Saves my loomis rods around here pond hopping..... 50% after a mark down came to 24$.. Sweet!

I actually didn't have them scan the Crucial.  There were a few Mojo Bass with the regular $109.99 on the tag, with the same price on a red sticker next to it.  I figured the red sticker was there to show a sale, but when I had the man scan it with his gun, it still came up $109.99. Also for any local guys, the 2 Crucials left were the 6'8 and 7'2 Worm and Jig casting models.

Like many people have been saying, not all of the employees are aware of the sale. The Lexa 100 on display was $99.97, the employee was telling me it was that price, but after scanning it came out to $74.97.  Maybe tomorrow night I will try and find a manager to see if I can buy the display model.  I was happy enough walking out of there with the Lexa 2500 (which I just paired with a Lamiglas Excel II 712 from Ron at Valley Sports!).
