Diggy Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The all new 2014 Shimano Crucial rods. Featuring Shimano's custom reel seat & proven C4S-HM blank construction. 28% lighter & 13% stronger. Quote
TrippyJai Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Please have a few full cork models. Looks good so far, the green will match my Curado E7s nicely. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Seems odd to make your most popular rod series green, right after changing the color of your most popular reel from green. 5 Quote
thehooligan Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Seems odd to make your most popular rod series green, right after changing the color of your most popular reel from green. x2 I always liked the older cork crucials, so i like the fact they brought the green back. Hoping they have a good variety of lengths & actions, id like to find a home for my conquest... Quote
Preytorien Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The cork handle looks nice, and while the improvements are probably valid, it still mostly looks like the previous Crucial, even the graphics look identical. But hey, I have the previous and it's the best rod I've ever owned so it can't be a bad thing! Quote

I hear ya, i have it on a majorcraft corkish right now, would love an expride or adrena though but its not in the budget... Would defintely give the new crucial in a 6'8 medium action a shot. Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Looks nice, although I'll probably won't get a new Crucial anytime soon...since I'll probably land a few the clearance ones. At 99 a pop, that is a helluva deal. Quote
TNBassin' Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I will definitely be picking up the old black ones on clearance. Why did they go with green? 1 Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 The last model Compre is kind of a dark green too. GLX is green. I think they just like green. Quote

I thought the same... Please have a few full cork models. Looks good so far, the green will match my Curado E7s nicely. Foam handles is the only reason I've avoided Shimano rods in the past few years. Quote
Cgrinder Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Maybe there's an $220ish aluminum Chronarch coming at some point and it's going to be green. Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Plenty of green reels out there... I still like the AvidX but I can't tell ya the specs on the crucials guide trains , anyone know? Quote

Super User Darren. Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Looks good! I like that my white Chronarch 50e's will match any color rod! Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Well at least they went back to a cork handle Quote
Super User Darren. Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Reading about this on TT, as well. Cork handles, indeed! 1 year warranty, though, apparently. Meh... Debate over the reel seat, balance, etc. There are a few more pictures there as well. Quote
dam0007 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Spinning reel seat looks stupid. The one on previous gen Crucial/Cumara was and is my favorite on a spinning rod, period. hands down. No thread showing, Comfortable and practicly zero foregrip. Quote

I'd prefer Shimano return to the same cork handles they had on the previous-gen Compre. My fave. Either way, I want to feel them in-hand! Quote
