Ok folks, you're heard the mods and I talk about the Okuma TCS rods.  We've been using them for months, and are very impressed!

Well, let's hear it directly from the guy who designed them, Scott Martin.  In this video, he tells you why he designed these rods the way he did.  I think you'll be surprised at the level of thought and detail that went into them.

I know I'll try one when they make them in faster actions. I actually spoke to Okuma about this and they said a faster series may be coming. For us that don't use braid the rods are too slow, all but the 7'11" are moderate fast actions, if you use braid all the time then you like the rods for sure.

I agree. I understand that the need for a moderate action when using braid but to totally limit your rods around that concept is abit strange to me. Though I do applaud him for being so behind his line of rods. A fast series would certainly boost sales I'm sure.

the 7' & 7'3 hvy powers show a fast action.  i've never used the rods, and really can't seem to find many reviews on them, so i don't quite how fast they are.  i'm actually kind of interested in these rods now

The 7'3" H is the only one under the 7'11" that is a fast action, all the rest are moderate or moderate fast. When these were released I had the pleasure of talking to a representative from Okuma about the line. I was told that I wasn't alone and there was a lot of shops in the northern areas that were looking for faster actions as well.

Likely closer to a fast than a true moderate. Any rod that costs more than 100 bucks should have something better than hardloy guide inserts Imo.
