vincenzo Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I typically fish spinners, cranks, and soft plastics on one baitcast combo. So which line and lb test is the better choice and why? Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted July 9, 2014 Super User Posted July 9, 2014 Nethier is a better choice, fish them both which ever one you like more use. I like braid for most applications but many more people like FC for most applications. It all comes down to you and what you want. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted July 9, 2014 Super User Posted July 9, 2014 Lines like Pline CX or CXX Yozuri hybrid, Big game mono, suffix siege , list goes on and on, are still used by a lot of fisherman, there are MANY choices in lines, not just braid or Florocarbon. Quote

Super User Catch and Grease Posted July 9, 2014 Super User Posted July 9, 2014 Well for spinners and cranks I like braid because on a line with no slack it is more sensitive than any other line and can hook a bass with the slightest pressure. I also like braid because it is a lot more easily managed and has very very little memory. Quote

Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted July 10, 2014 Super User Posted July 10, 2014 Well what would you guys use nd y? I use braid it has the qualities in a line that I prefer and excels at them to the other styles of line. Quote
UNCfan1981 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I have switched over to braid and it's been awesome!! I feel everything and its super strong. No issues with my line and my knots held perfectly. Strung my baitcasters with spiderwire and my spinning reels with power pro. I wish I would have switched sooner. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 I use a high quality FC line for all of the techniques you mentioned. Your best bet is to try a few quality lines and see what works best for you and your fishing situation. Quote
vincenzo Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 how is the spider wire ez flouro? is it a good cuality line? Quote

Mr Swim Jig Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I use fluorocarbon, copolymer and braided line, just depends on the situation. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 Rather than SW use red label a much better line than SW... It's (Red label) it's a decent FC for soft cover only (IMO) not good on rocks... Then there's Yozuri hybrid super tough/ strong... Doesn't have great feel but it's a dependable line and is made with FC in its make up... Pline is a great Co-poly CX is a softer line CXX is a very strong and durable line as well, CX is FC coated, CXX is coated with something.. Not FC though its called a silicon R Flouric Resin coating that repels water so the line does not absorb water like mono. Good monos are Suffix, triple fish, sunline, Ande, and others..... Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted July 11, 2014 Super User Posted July 11, 2014 For the applications you mention on one setup I would go with flouro, the biggest reason is the plastics. With these bites you end up with slack line as you work the bait. Due to its density flouro will allow better detection of these bites than other lines. Quote
