B. Shannon Shaw Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I just bought two new Rouge Rod Spinning Rods, in a 7'6" Medium, and a 6'6" Heavy. I am looking to find some quality reels that would match up with them in about the same weight limits for the line as the rods. (The Medium lists it as 7-16# and the Heavy as 12-25#.) My price range is the $100.00 to $150.00 per reel. Thank you in advance for your advice. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted July 9, 2014 Super User Posted July 9, 2014 I'd look for a couple Stradic 2500FJ's. 1 Quote
bassin is addicting Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 imo you can't beat a Pflueger spinning reel for the money.. i'd go with a Supreme for both... i've got 2 Supreme's and 2 President's and never had an ounce of problem with either. Quote
B. Shannon Shaw Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Thank you for your advice. I decided to go with the Quantum Blu BL40PTS for the heavy, and the Quantum Blu BL30PTS for the medium, when I researched them they had received a 4.5 stars on their reviews. A friend had them and I was able to try them out before I made my purchase. I really liked how smooth the cast was, and how wide the range of options while playing with the drag. The price was lower than what I was looking for, so was able to get both for what I was looking to put into just one. Thanks again. Quote
