What would be a good all purpose line for topwater baits on my BC? Currently using pp 50lb. I now have a rod/feel specifically for topwater baits. I use buzzbaits, spooks, frogs and sometimes a dying flutter. Just wondering if pp 50lb too much line.

Braid is perfect for what your doing. I would keep it at 50lb

Yeah, I'd pick 50lb braid as an all purpose. Although for buzzbaits and sticks I can't handle braid, I loose too many fish, so I use mono.

Only because you said frogs, I will also say that you need braid.

Just going to echo here, I use 70lb braid for all of my topwater...  (spooks, frogs, buzzbaits, horny toads, poppers, propbaits) it's just simple for me, the only change I sometimes make is certain baits (spooks, poppers, propbaits) I will tie on a 6-7' leader of @15 lb mono.

I think the 50lb is an all around great choice and you'll be very happy with it.

Im gonna echo everyone else here as well.  I use 50lb Suffix braid for all topwater and haven't been disappointed yet.

Because you also said frogs I'm going to say braid. Put a short leader on for baits with treble hooks to prevent the braid from fouling your hooks.

The answer is simple: use the line YOU LIKE

I like nylon, most of my reels are spooled with nylon, and from all the nylons out there my favorite is Trilene Big Game, I have been using Big Game for so long that I can´t even remember when. Who can tell me nylon doesn´t work ? I use it practically for everything most of the time.

50lb PP should be fine.

I am currently using 12lb fluoro carbon on my top water pole and it sucks so don't use it

Try a monofilament or some braided line. Flouro sinks & tends to make using most top water lures difficult to use. Or if the rods used to throw a wide range of baits maybe consider braid & keeping the flouro for leader..
