Then why did you target "old people" instead of just saying a "customer" And again referring to an "old woman" knocking down some beans. The title of the OP?

If I were Sigmund Freud I might think the OP had an underlying problem disrespecting seniors and their medical maladies.  But I do realize it was an attempt at levity, the keyword being ATTEMPT.  Young or old I don't see much about having to a crap as being all that noteworthy.

Hilarious thread.

I'm in my 40's and that gene has already kicked in.  I think it has alot to do with where you are in life.  Happy?  Content?  Comfortable? Then you can give no s%#ts.

Catch and Grease, Thanks for posting that. That was some funny stuff right there. To the "Old People" Don't push that little white button in the middle of the screen it may offend you.

I'm sure you are talking about Fishing Rhino.  He is old, and he is as full of it as a live rhino.  :eyebrows:

I'm 68.  There are old people, and then there are old people.  Most of us are just like you younger folk, except some of our parts are out of warranty and are failing.  Trust me, we elders truly despise getting old, but it's much more preferable than the alternative.  Bear in mind that, for most of us, our minds are just as sharp as they were forty years ago.  It's our bodies that keep screwing with us.  I take no offense at jokes about older people.  For the most part, they are well deserved, and old people tell jokes about old people too.  For the record, I applaud the OP's post about the deposit of Mt. Everest.  At least the old gent made it to the bathroom in time.  The heart-breaking thing about some of the elderly is the onset of dementia.  That's when everything goes to hell in a hand-basket.

Now, let's talk about the REALLY, REALLY STUPID stuff that those in their teens and twenties do.

You got that right Mike, no one want's to talk about the alternatives, and most hope they make it there, the ones that say they don't, well the truth isn't always their priority!!

I'm 62. My "don't give a rip" switch got locked on at about age 50.

Funny stuff speed craw. If somebody doesn't like it, tell "em to go shoot in their hat. I actually have a picture of that somewhere. A knuckle dragging laborer really torqued me off one fine day, so I filled up his hard hat. Several people got pictures of that. If I could find one, I'd post it.

May want to watch with all the snippiness WV...old man strength is real and you may find out from one of them!!! lol  I always figured they stopped caring once they gained this.  That, or to put it bluntly- if people only use 10% of their brain- young folks are typically using 5% of that trying to impress other people!  The older you get, the less you try to impress, etc. etc.

I am only 30, so I like to think I only use maybe 2% trying to impress.

and as I have heard quoted before...

" I am older than you and meaner than you will ever be"

LOL LOL I'm 55 bud the switch turned on for me about five years ago. And yes "I am older than you and meaner than you will ever be"

I always say you are only as old as you act...so you are still young so no worries!

Maybe you should try to add at least another 1 to 2%, At this point you are impressing no one!

I don't know exactly when it happened for me. I think somewhere in the 50 range is about right. At some point you come to understand that people will think what they think, and it really doesn't matter one way or the other. Those that love you will, and those that don't...It is kind of freeing to not worry about such things.

Well now you're just flirting with me- life is too short to not be able to take the context out of conversation.

Read Kmac's affirmation above of what I was getting at as well, apply to yourself, and realize how your age can be misconstrued as to how you behave.    I'm all for a good ole fashion argument/debate on something tangible however, internet snippiness is no fun for you, me or anyone.  So that being said- sorry man...thought you were 14 (honest mistake) and everyone is tough and faceless on the internet.

Catch some biguns this weekend if you get out, unfortunately I will not be able to.

I don't know what age has to do with wanting someone to like you. When I was in my 20's and 30's I was young and bullet proof 6'2" 220 lbs. no fat, and climbed the steel setting Iron like a squirrel every day, drank almost all night, and wishing we could work over time everyday, I loved it. Back then my attitude was what you see is what you get and aint much you can do about it if you don't like it.

Today and after a 42' fall head first in 1991 bust'n me up pretty good, and full of arthritis, I still have to say what you see is what you get, the thing is if you don't like it today, I have to introduce you to my wittle fwiend!! didn't have to worry about take'n an azz whippen back then and I asked for one often, but I have,,,,mellowed if you will,,,,,and I definitely ain't taken one today! So yes Mac you don't have to change to free yourself from worry of who likes it!! :wink3:

The thing about make'n it to the crapper,,,,,it's funny how it works, I had problems a couple times after all nighters and being hungover 100' or more in the airthe next day, was pretty young then. Today I don't pull all nighters, and dang sure don't get that far from a crapper, problem solved, amazing but it doesn't mean I'm getting younger!! I geuss this just goes to show you can be full of Chit at any stage of life, some younger,,,,some older,,,,,then their are those of use that have been full of chit for long enough to have figured out how to master the daily hassle of dealing with it!!!!   :hahaha-024:

I'll be 69 this week but I'm the baby of my boat group, one guy is 77 the other past past 80.  Don't think for a second those 70-100 pounders don't take a toll on me.  In my normal everyday fishing I don't target those kind of fish anymore, don't do the offshore thing near as often now.

It's inevitable once one hits 60 you're going to have some kind of problem, whether it be from an old or new injury, an internal medical problem, it's gonna happen.  I've got my share of aches and pains, ailments, maladies, and diseases, do does everyone else my age.
