Looks good, Slone. Been tempted to do the bow rail lightning myself.

Nice! I'm guessing it's not too bad on the battery either with LED?

Current draw is 1/10 amp per foot. The nav. lights are on one circuit and the deck lights are on another. The deck lights draw not quite 1.5 amps.

I took measurements and I used a handheld router with a 3/8 straight bit set to the depth of the led's. Made the first pass then 2 more passes to clean it up. They fit nice and snug.

Never thought to do it with a router. Probably makes it a heck of a lot quicker and easier.

I marked my lines with blue tape. Router set at 10,000rpms. A steady hand helps

I bought lights for my boat as well. Haven't had a chance to put them on yet. I just had my decals made and put them on the  carpet of my boat and also on my truck. The carpet decals came out beautiful. I also had a license plate frame made for my truck. I will have to bend your ear when I put my lights on. I am putting clear lights on in my storage lockers and blue ones on my deck. I would like to put the red and green ones on in the rub rail like you did, but am terrified of screwing it up. I see you have a nice lip on your bow to tuck your lights under. BTW Job well done.

Thanks. I went with amber because the boat came with 2 round amber lights plus, they're easy on the eyes. I'm going to do the lockers eventually. I'm going to switch them but need to find a small door switch that will take some abuse. My buddy who fishes at night with me was over today. I showed him the lights and first thing he said was "You didn't put any in the back for me" LOL

If you need help when you put them on just give me a call. If you don't still have my # send me a PM. There's a couple ways to do the wiring. I didn't use scotch locks which would have been the easy way to do things. I used heat shrink butt connectors and daisy chained the lights. Took extra time but it's done right.

Those look really nice. I will be getting a new boat in a little over a month and plan on doing this. What brand light did you use? Did you use adhesive to attach them?
