Super User F14A-B Posted July 5, 2014 Super User Posted July 5, 2014 I picked up 200 yds. So tell me what you're opinion is on this line, characteristics, several have said they prefer it over Sniper.... Tell me what you have found out about it. $23 for 200 yds. Not cheap, not Tatsu high.... But feedback will be appreciated. Quote
sarcazmo Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I bought it when it was around 50% off. Haven't put much time in with it yet. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted July 5, 2014 Super User Posted July 5, 2014 I used the old white box xps fluoro once. Not a bad line. Little bit of memory but not terrible. Have not used the new purple box that is now made by seaguar. I would use sniper 11 times out of 10 before xps though. 2 Quote
LMB KING Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Last time i checked all fluorocarbon lines are made in Japan. Quote

Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted July 5, 2014 Super User Posted July 5, 2014 Yup germany triplefish its a big name in offshore leaders and other lines Quote
hotdogin Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I purchased two boxes of XPS this past Spring Classic in 10 and 14# and have been very surprised/ pleased with it. The white boxes. Both are being used on my baitcasters and any overruns I've had have been purely user error. Abrasion resistance is pretty good, memory is low (just enough to make tying knots easier), and of course, the knot strength has been good. I'll definitely be buying more. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted July 5, 2014 Author Super User Posted July 5, 2014 The new stuff is in a purple yellow box, I can't find much about it online, anywhere.... I may return it and put some extra cash towards a FC I am familiar with.... I just figured by now a few folks had used it and could compare... Additional comments are welcome and thanks to those that did. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted July 5, 2014 Super User Posted July 5, 2014 From what I have heard, the new stuff is very similar to Abrazx. It's now made by Seaguar, so I don't doubt that it's very similar. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted July 6, 2014 Super User Posted July 6, 2014 I tried the old version and it worked pretty well, no real complaints. There are better lines but when this stuff was on sale, I had to try it. Quote
backcast88 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 The old white box stuff was pretty good. When it was on sale it was hard to beat. The new stuff made by Seaguar is in a purlple and yellow box and says KVD on it. It is not as good. I bought some 10 lb for crankbaits and hated it. The rest of the spool will be used for carolina rig leader. If your store still has the white box get it before the new yellow/purple box. Quote
