Would This Catch Fish Good.

What conditions. I fish from 5pm-9pm. would it work then.(the pond i fish is 75% algae.

I would think it could work, especially low-light conditions such as dawn/dusk or an overcast day.

 

Throw it around some grass or weeds and let Mr. Bass tell you he's hungry!

Hopefully the marker smell wont be to strong....... I didn't feel like buying a black frog so i just made one black.

Hey whatever works. I've done my fair share of sharpie modifications.

 

I use a sharpie to color the end of my faded braid black, I've never seen any less fish from it.

 

I also had a gold floating Rapala minnow that I used a sharpie on to mark little spots all over it, kind of looks like a trout.....that thing flat out CATCHES bluegills and bass in our local river.

 

I think your frog will probably do just fine.

Sure it will catch them if not kill them lol What did you use a sharpie?.....Black will work 24/7...Even mid-day and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 

Don't worry about the smell it is a reaction strike, they don't have much time to sniff it out LOL

It was a sharpie. Works reel nice.

Don't be too surprised if/when the black eventually turns to purple.  It shouldn't effect the fishability though.

Doesn't really matter what we think -

 

Take it to the lake and the bass will certainly let you know what they think about it.

 

btw - I have yet to find Any Color Frog that Won't catch bass . . . . . .

I am convinced that if it's a hollow body of the correct profile and thrown in the right spot it doesn't matter what it looks like, it will get slammed.  So yes.  Have fun, dress your frogs up and take them out to dinner if it suits your fancy.  Whatever gets you feelin' the lure and working it with confidence.

I would put some scent on it before fishing though, not because the fish will smell the sharpie and not take it... but because you have to wait before you set the hook with a frog, and that will give the bass time to taste the sharpie and he might spit it right back out.

Some people use anise oil. That's pretty easy to find too.

First of all, will it catch fish well not good. Anyway it should work wait till dusk and drop it off the Lilly pads. You will kill them.

I use Sharpies to modify baits often, don't worry about the scent putting fish off, they don't care. If you're really worried about it, any kind of spray scent will knock the marker smell down.

Why would it be illegal? Lots of trout guys do it around here, don't know if it helps but they still catch trout and occasionally bass on spinners and spoons.
