stacpa17 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Greetings, I am considering purchasing my first boat, the only experience I have is with a friends 16' Bass Tracker with a 20 HP which is 30 years old though it does the job fine. I am 51 and will likely fish by myself which means trailering, launching and loading the boat myself. Considering the Lund Aluminum boats. Is anyone familiar with their line of boats. Would the Rebel XL 16.5 be too much to handle by myself or should I look at the Fury or something similar. Thanks. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted July 1, 2014 Super User Posted July 1, 2014 Plenty of older gentlemen use the Lund Rebel variants by themselves on the Mississippi River for walleye and bass. It's a solid boat. Quote
200racing Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 size wise i launch my 17.5 g3 solo all the time with no trouble. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted July 2, 2014 Super User Posted July 2, 2014 I launch a 20ft Lund by myself. The Rebel and Fury are both fine boats, but the Rebel has more to offer. You need to take into consideration the water you will be fishing, and the price you want to pay and make your decision from there. The Rebel has the options you'd find on Lunds larger boats, the Fury does not. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted July 2, 2014 Super User Posted July 2, 2014 Where are you mostly fishing? Quote
stacpa17 Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Mid size lakes mostly, at the largest would be Lake Champlain but I would hug the shore. Quote
