trupp30 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I know alot of you guys really like this bait, but I have had little success with it. I want to give it another try, and was wondering what kind of set-up you use to fish this bait. ie; line size, hook size, spinning reel or baitcaster. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Quote
MT2 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Typically I throw it on a 1/4oz tungsten weight, a 4/0 EWG hook on a casting reel with 15# McCoy copoly Quote
Mccallister25 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 T-rig or you can even throw it on a larger jig. 1 Quote

Super User Choporoz Posted July 1, 2014 Super User Posted July 1, 2014 Gama weighted 4/0 springlock. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 It sounds silly, but try rigging it weightless and buzz it across the surface. It makes a great topwater, and has a different sound from a frog or a buzzbait. 1 Quote

Dyerbassman Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I've even thrown it on a split shot with a 3/0 EWG hook and had success. Just keep trying. Once you get bit, remember what you did and try it again. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted July 1, 2014 Super User Posted July 1, 2014 I use em on back of jigs or trig them when the bite is hot.... On tougher days I will use better baits which cost more... Quote

Super User webertime Posted July 1, 2014 Super User Posted July 1, 2014 I haven't tried it, but I know it has to work. Oh does it! Carolina Rig the small ones for smallies. Try it on a chatterbait too. Quote
Hattrick7 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Awesome T rig bait. Weights depending on water depth. 3/0 gammy ewg. I've used it as a chunk trailer on jigs that also get bit. I just bite it down a little or the ones that get mangled from the T rig bite then just poke it through like a piece of pork. Quote
robster80 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 i gotta try some of these. never used em before. Quote
Basspro87 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 They make great jig trailers when swimming a jig Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 2, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 2, 2014 They're very versatile baits. I like to fish them with either a 1/4 or 3/8 ounce bullet weight and 4/0 EWG hook or on a same sized swinging football head. Rig them sideways on a bladed jig and they make a terrific trailer. They also work well on big shakyheads, C rigs, and work like a finesse buzzbait if you fish them weightless. Quote
