Balshy Fishing Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 So there's bass in this small pond and I'm just curious how you guys would fish this. It's shallow then gets deeper[obviously], I'm just not sure how deep. The water is usually pretty dark. Any feedback will be great! Quote
Denea Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Looks like a nice spot where I would fish topwater. I would use a frog, and skip it underneath the trees. I have always had success tossing frogs underneath, and around overhanging trees. Keep casting even if you don't get hit right away. By any chance, do you know if this is fished often? Quote
timsford Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Id try a buzzbait or spinnerbait and if no bites on those baits id try a t-rigged creature bait. Id also try a bluegill swimbait as there are huge bass in some small ponds and their main forage is usually some type of panfish Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Yeah, it's heavily fished BUT i'm pretty sure it's fished by incompetent people. Yanno, those kids who were never taught how to fish and just show up and lose 8 lures an outting by just throwing into the tree's, which should be impossible because they're about 20 feet straight up Regardless, I'm not sure if it's deep enough to use spinners. I threw out a squarebill just to see how it ran[was the first one I owend] and I was constantly bringing back random debris[leaves, greenish slime type stuff] Quote
MichaelE Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I would fish a hollow body frog on the banks and under the trees or throw a 7.5 inch culprit worm in redshad color on a 3/16 ounce bullet weight Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 I haven't really gotten into bullet weights before. I'm assuming they're the same as a splitshot? Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 1, 2014 Super User Posted July 1, 2014 5 inch Senko weightless use a 3/0 or 40 ewg hook ~ green pumpkin or watermelon & black. You will get bit. A-Jay Quote
SweepTheLegAU Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 5 inch Senko weightless use a 3/0 or 40 ewg hook ~ green pumpkin or watermelon & black. You will get bit. A-Jay This and weightless fluke watermelon candy/red. I fish something similar that's full of bream as well and both of these produce. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted July 2, 2014 Super User Posted July 2, 2014 Jig and craw worked under those trees and along that wall. Quote
