So i got my *** shipment today, and along with some spinnerbaits and frogs i got the blades for making chatterbaits out of any old jig. But its the damndest thing i can't get the clip onto the blade!! Do you have to take apart the clip and bend it up? How do you get the clip on the blade while preserving the integrity of the clip? I don't really like the idea of those clips on chatterbaits anyways, i have had clips like that fail on big fish before. It has to be something easy that im missing. thanks.

You mean the snap onto the blade (what you tie your line to)? If you have the correct size snap then it should go right on.... should be size 3 in most brands.

Good snaps don't fail! I've caught plenty of 7-8lbers using D&M piranhas with quality gamakastu snaps.

I use a #2 snap on mine, they slide right on no bending involved.

Somethings not right here. Im using the clips that came with the blades. Each blade has 3 holes. I managed to get a clip on thru the bottom and top hole, but the clip is not able to swing around its just like tightly fixed on there. And i had to bend it to get it on. I tried to do another jig and the clip broke. Maybe i need a much smaller clip.

Here are some instructions from Barlow's.

Installing the duo lock snap on the Shakee Blade requires a little technique. The pictures below show the sequence for installing the snap. Installing the snap is much easier if you use needle nose pliers.

If you are doing it the same as shown in shanks picture then you have the wrong size snaps.
