basshunter54130 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Hi, I've been frog fishing for 2yrs, but not sure if I could be using a better braid for my Abu Garcia REVO ROCKET.I started the year out with Sufix 832 at 65lb but it seemed to dig into itself on the spool. It there a better brand or another poundage I should use? Quote
Super User MCS Posted June 30, 2014 Super User Posted June 30, 2014 I like the braids that you can feel the "thread" like Power Pro or Stren. If your not in super heavy cover or pads, 40 or 50 pound would be fine to use as well. If you can spool the braid with some tension and get it on nice and tight then it digs less. I haven't ever had a problem using the two mention even as small as 30 and it digging on a regular basis, maybe after pulling a snag loose but after a cast or two it is good as new. 1 Quote
basshunter54130 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Ok thanks, I'll try spooling on with more tension. I know for sure I didn't use a lot when I put it on. Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted June 30, 2014 Super User Posted June 30, 2014 I use 30lb Berkley braid for jigs and T-rigs. I love the stuff...strong, smooth and no digging issues. Quote
