I have been tempted to try Sunline time and time again these last few years. However, I keep saying no. Why? Because I either didnt have the money or didnt want to pay the money. Then I started using McCoy co-poly and really liked the stuff. However recently I picked up some Sunline FX2 because it was just a few bucks more than McCoys braid. Now Im thinking once again Id really like to try Sunline....Thinking FC Sniper, and Super Naural Mono....But before I do.......

How many of you have tried, or use Sunline in general and whats your honest thoughts on the line you used or use.

Sunline Super fluoro is the only fluoro I use anymore, zero complaints with it.

I use supernatural mono almost exclusively on my spinning reels and cranking rods. Works great and has very low memory which really helps with spinning reels and the smallest diameter for pound test ive been able to find which makes cranks dive deeper. It does break pretty close to ratings though compared with trilene xl or big game like i was using before. Not necessarily a bad thing but i could horse in a 15 pound striper on 12 lb big game and have to play them out with sunline but its definitely worth it for the extra foot or two deeper my cranks dive. I havent tried their flouro or braid though

I was mostly pleased with 10-12# FCsniper. Line management was better than I thought it was going to be. I didnt use any L&L on the line either so this would be a plus. Line seem strong like on hang-ups it took quite a bit to finally break the line. No issue with knot strength or failure. I didnt care for the amount of stretch in the line. I feel at times I outcasted the hook setting abilities of the line cause of this. The line does cast very well so do have this issue was somewhat disappointing. The less sensitivity with the presentations I fish most. Fighting a fish didnt get the feel of what the fish was doing as well as Id like which to me is an enjoyable aspect that seems to get overlooked by others.

I tried SX1 and it took over.  Love the stuff.  Casting has never been better and it is very strong at a silly small diameter.  Even down to 10lb it kills it in my Curado 51E and doesn't have a coating to wear off.

Sunline Sniper FC in 7lb test is my favorite line.  On a spinning reel I haven't found a line that can beat it.  I also use their 10 and 12lb for crankbaits and ripbaits, and the 14-20 for jigs, heavy senkos, heavy dropshot, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, small swimbaits and just about anything else sub-surface.  From what I have used and I have found Sniper is the best overall fluorocarbon for me.  It is definitely expensive, but for me it has been worth the cost.

7# sniper on spinning

20# shooter in 2 rods

shooter is the best line I've ever used for bottom contact baits

I use Sniper 14lb on my everything rod, it's great, never found any fluoro as sensitive and supple. Yeah, it's expensive and I need to be careful bout birdsnesting, but I'd rather gripe about that than sensitivity and suppleness.

I'll just flat say it. I was not impressed by the sniper lines of fluoro. The Shooter stuff on the other hand was great.

The sniper line was, just like any "manageable fluoro" one small birdsnest away from loosing your whole spool to a deep line kink. I stick with Seagar Red Label for these applications as its painless to replace. Shooter for your fluoro jig, t-rig, bottom contact baits is about as good as it gets comparable to Abrasx and Trilene 100% for stiffness and durability.

I just tried my first spool of super FC sniper, and I'm "so so" with it. I think it has about the same stretch as Invisix, but not as good in the abrasion department. It transmitted what was happening at the business end of the line just fine - again compared to Invisix.

The worst part about the stuff is really that I can only find it online. Invisix is readily available for me, and the local tackle shop gives me a discount because of my fishing club.

I would absolutely recommend it, but for the reasons I stated above I'll keep using Invisix.

LOL the reasons you state are reasons I use sniper over invisix. No way in the world does sniper have more stretch the invisix! That stuff is like a rubber band which IS why i use it for leaders with my braids. The abrasion resistance is better IMO. Having said that It does have some stretch and i wouldnt call it the "best" in the abrasion category. For me its the best all around and i use it for about everything.

This x2.

I had invizx on one of my reels and straight swapped for sniper at same #. Sniper had less stretch, more sensitivity, more supple, and more abrasion resistance. I've had frays in my invizx I could snap with an easy tug. With sniper similar frays were much more difficult to snap.

I haven't tried fx2 or sx1, braid as I want to try seaguar smackdown, but I'm really leaning Sunline lately.

FC Sniper is my absolute favorite fluro. I tend to use 20# on a good majority of my baitcasters. The reason for the that is because it has the diameter of most other companies 15# fluro or 12-14# mono. To me it also more abrasion resistant than the other sizes and I fish around A LOT of wood and rocks so I need as much abrasion resistance as possible.

On spinnig rods I also enjoy 7# FC Sniper because it has the diameter of 6# and the strength of 8#.

Just out of curiosity for the people who have used the Japanese Sniper (TW exclusive line that has 110 yards a spool) how does it hold up to Super FC Sniper. I always thought that everyone used the Japanese Sniper because everyone says FC Sniper instead of Super FC Sniper until I saw that all the Sunline Pro's use Super FC Sniper instead of the Japanese Sniper so I decided if the pros use Super Fc Sniper instead of the Japanese I will too lol

No difference apparently.

Like I started my comment with I just got my first spool, and used it for 1 club tournament. I very well may change my tune, which overall is very positive.

At the end of the day the Invisix is more readily available for me, so I'll stick with that.
