HighTones Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I found these fish in my creek today and was wondering what kind they are? Quote
HighTones Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 The first fish I posted almost looks like a bass or a perch, because it has stripes on it, and the other one I just never saw before Quote
einscodek Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Yer pictures are too small. You got these close to shore. Baby bass are alil farther from shore at this point. The second fish fry Ive seen before and if its got a ray fin then its not baby bass. Both fishes I ve seen before close to shore and have ray fins Quote
HighTones Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 I caught them in a small creek but there is a pond up stream and I always catch bluegills in here too Quote
Shanes7614 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 What area/state are these from? May help in identifying these for some. Quote
Kevin22 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 #2 is a blacknose dace #1 escapes my memory for the minute... Believe it is perch something. Another type of minnow species commonly found in creeks. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 30, 2014 Global Moderator Posted June 30, 2014 #1 looks a bit like a Log Perch Darter Quote
HighTones Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 I think it is actually a banded killfish. not sure though Quote
Kevin22 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Very well could be. Looks more like the killi than the longperch Quote
