Mr_Scrogg Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Mine has them for $30-50 in the clearance. Every one of them has something wrong from a micro crack on the blank (impossible to see unless you look for it) to a guide miss-aligned. Not saying there is anything wrong with the rods you guys are buying, just make sure you check them over well. I feel sorry for the people buying them here. Here is the thing, even though they might have cracks, its still covered by Falcon's Warranty. The one I got for $15 had a cracked handle under the EVA. 3rd time out, it broke, so I sent it in. Waiting fkr my replacement to arrive. $15 for the rod. $4 to ship, $19 bucks for a perfect, brand new Squarebill Rod that is light as a feather? I'M GAME!!! Quote
Super User tcbass Posted July 7, 2014 Super User Posted July 7, 2014 Wouldn't let me attach the pic of them together, but here they are. Plus a Jason Christie Falcon and a Rick Clunn square bill rod I got for 30 Is that red reel a Revo Rocket? And if so, do you like it? Quote
Bank4Bass Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 no veritas for $34 at walmart. untrue. Every walmart is independent and has different sales. What others may have found may not be true for your local area, most assumed this is common knowledge. Quote
BasskingKeith Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Is that red reel a Revo Rocket? And if so, do you like it? No, that would be nice. But it's a Quantum Kinetic PT, great reel for the price Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Got a call back from Falcon regarding my warranty claim on the $15 Bucoo. For those that dont know, first trip out the handle cracked and broke inside the EVA at the reel seat. "Scott", I believe was his name, asked if I did ANY modifications to the handle. Ummmmm no, I bought the rod,( I sent a receipt), used it and it and it broke. He said his guys didnt find the break to be caused by manufacturing or construction. BUT, they will go ahead and replace it, if I covered S&H. Hmmmm, ok. So, $15 for the rod. $3 for me to ship it to them, $20 for them to ship it to me. And Ill have a new rod Friday. Quote
Kevin22 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Sounds like a walmart employee stepped on the handle and heard a crack then they sold it off on clearance. I'm sure they noticed the price tag on the receipt too which threw up some huge red flags. You are lucky they are warranting it. Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 He seemed hesitate when he said they would cover it. Im glad they did, if not, then Id be SOL cause I couldnt return it to Walmart. I looked it over good at the store, guess I just missed it. Quote
