Nick_Barr Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I have been making some plaster molds and i heard i need a sealant to keep the worm from sticking to the mold and create a semi-gloss finish. So What sealant do i need? Quote
cedar1 Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Hey Nick, I use Mog-Pog on mine. Let it dry very well and you'll be good to go. Quote
ominousone Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 is the mod podge just the regular mod podge or something special? I bought some of the regular stuff, but I'm just not sure if it's right. There were like 10 kinds at the craft store I went to and the fella helping me looked like he'd be much more comfortable picking out pink lace than helping a fisherman. Quote
JayDub Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Wait... heres what this bass resource article says... http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pouring_plastic_worms.html "Sealer - any plaster/wall board, water soluble sealer such as Valspar® gloss glaze (superior in many respects to Mod-Podge® craft glue, which peels off after 10 pours.)" cedar1 Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 The store I get mine at only has one kind so I really can't be of any help or even tell you what it is other than Mog- Pog Quote
SENKOSAM Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Home Depot or Lowe's sells Valspar and it lasts much longer than Mod Podge. It comes in a paint can and is water soluble (for cleaning paint brushes and thinning). It gives a nice hard glossy finish that lasts for a year. The other surface finish some have used is 2-part Devcon epoxy, which lasts forever, but which is harder to use. Quote
