I was wondering how many members actually work in a fishing tackle dept. at a retail store? Just curious, no need to mention which store,  just give a shout out if you work in a tackle dept. Thanks.

I worked in the fishing department of Cabela's in KC for 5 years, I wouldn't recommend it but it was a pretty good paying job for a high school and late teenage kid. Now it just looks like I work for a tackle shop  :laugh5:

I started as an hourly associate in the fishing/hunting department at a big box retailer. I moved up a couple times until recently I transitioned to the merchandise side of the business at the corporate office.

Retail has it's downsides but I never really complained about getting paid to organize or talk about fishing tackle when I was doing it for free anyway...

Sorry not retail fishing, but 11 years part time working in a major bait manufacturing plant.

I'm a regional sales manager for a pork company, but would LOVE to transition into the tackle industry somehow, someday. I like the idea of talking about and selling tackle in retail, but the money just isn't there, and the hours aren't conducive with family life.

Small tackle shop building rods, repairing reels, tying flies - that was back before big box stores - owned my own bait and tackle shop (great way to go broke) -retired as a bass guide - fishing business has been a major part of my life - ret'd with great friends and memories - money?what money?

I owned a hunting/fishing online retailer, but we're winding down operations right now.
