Mr_Scrogg Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Suprised Clayton hasnt already started working on this. Ill get it going, and start getting Suggestions for Locales and Dates. I was thinking Mid to Late October, Early November. Locations, the usual suspects. Melvern, Wabaunsee, Wolf Creek, or another Suggestion. Heck Id be up for Grand again. (I know Curt wouldn't though!) I'll even suggest Wilson SFL near Chanute, KS. One ofI the top Spotted Bass lakes in KS Lets get discussing! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 27, 2014 Global Moderator Posted June 27, 2014 Milford is great in the fall and we could rent a cabin or two and do a 2 day again. The strip pits would be fun and there's also a cabin down there that's $70 a night I think and sleeps 6-8 people. Perry can be really good in the fall. Wolf Creek would be fun but the odds of getting 2 fishable days on the water out there are really slim. We had the fall fishoff for Wyco in the Osage River of Lake of the Ozarks last year and that was a pretty good time. Mozingo could be fun but that lake isn't real big and it gets packed on weekends. We could do a state lake if we only wanted to do a 1 day but I'm not sure how well a 2 day would go unless we didn't have much of a turn out. Quote
sizzlefry Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I have been wanting to do Milford for a while now. I heard its a good lake and I have never been there Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Im down for Milford. Cabin is cool with me. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 28, 2014 Super User Posted June 28, 2014 I'm going to make one of these events, I swear I will. However, this coming fall, most of my fall fishing budget has been committed to the 2014 Fishing for Freedom event that the Leavenworth Bass Club and Long Shoal Marina co-sponsor every fall. This year's edition will be on Saturday & Sunday, October 11 & 12. I plan to get down there early Wednesday morning and pre-fish for 3 days. Last year, a bunch of guys from another board that I occasionally frequent got together for a BBQ on Friday evening, just to compare notes, meet people we only knew by screen names, etc. 2 out of the last 3 years we've had outstanding fall weather. Two years ago, it got a little chilly. Anyway, if you are looking for a fall fishing trip at at decent lake, that is an option for any boater. All the motels in the area have discounts for volunteer boaters. On Sunday, the 12th , you get to take some veteran fishing for a day. There is a ton of information at the Leavenworth Bass Club website. I'm not a member of the Leavenworth Bass club, I'm just a guy who's had a good time every time I've participated in their fall event. If you are looking for a fall fishing trip, this is something to consider. Quote

I know there's no way Chris or Jon would go back there and I don't think I would want to go back to fun fish either. Leavenworth Bass Club is a good group of guys though, I used to fish in their club when I was a teenager. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 1, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 1, 2014 HAZLE CREEK !!!! Hazel would be awesome, but no way everyone is dragging their rigs down those dirt roads to get to that lake, and trolling motors only on a 540 acre lake is rough in a bass boat. That would be a 6 hour drive for Scrogg too. I'd be all for it if you can sway everyone's vote though. Monster bass, heavy timber, and the shot at a big muskie all add up to a good time to me. Apparently there's some giant crappie in there too. Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 6 hrs, Hell I'll go to Fork, Ten Killer, Eufala, etc... Maybe I could fly in to Hazel! Quote

Doc-Drew Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Looking at what is being said, I think it is safe to assume that this will be another multi-day outing? Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Thats whats being thrown out so far. I wouldnt be opposed to a single meet. But it seems like the experience was better having more BS time Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 2, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 2, 2014 Looking at what is being said, I think it is safe to assume that this will be another multi-day outing? It doesn't have to be, but it's nice to not feel as rushed as the day trips sometimes do. Plus, it's nice to get to fish somewhere that is a little too far for a day trip. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 7, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 7, 2014 Nobody interested in doing a fall get together? Everyone busy? Or just wanting a time and location to be picked and those that can make it just show up? Quote
cbass12 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Depending on where you guys pick I can do one day, but would have to bail on the second day. Quote
pbrussell Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Funds have been tight for me. Haven't been able to do most of my recent tourneys with my club, so I highly doubt I'll be able to do a 2 day. However, if a one day happens, or there's a 2 day going within reasonable distance I might be able to make it. Quote
SuperFluke Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I'm more likely to make it to a one day event. Two day would be tough right now. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 8, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 8, 2014 So maybe we need to look at a 2 day at Melvern or Perry so the guys that can't make a 2 day deal can make it for one day? 1 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted July 8, 2014 Super User Posted July 8, 2014 I'm down for whatever Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Id be ok with that. Cabins are fairly cheap. Quote
Doc-Drew Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I'm down for whatever Lol! We could always do a one day on a close lake and for those that want to do a two day have it another day another lake. If we are only doing one get together, I vote for either something close or a one day since I'm in the same boat as pbrussell and superfluke Quote
pbrussell Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I could probably swing a two day at perry. I wouldn't be able to stay out there, but I could likely pull my boat there both days. And you all know I've been joking (and dreading) doing a get together at perry. I think we should do it. Worse comes to worst and we can turn it into a drum tourney. I will absolutely smoke you guys if it comes to that. Quote
kanasbassfisher08 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 id be more then happy to put on a two day fishing trip at the pitts in crawford co down south of pittsburg its best to have jon boats but im putting a bass boat on all the ones i will fish. fun times and tons of fish ill start a new topic for it called the fall 2 day get together at the pits just fyi oct. 4 is what ill be shooting for! Easy now, I've got some drum honey holes on Perry that you could probably get a bite every cast all day long if drum was all you wanted to catch. How would the 11th and 12th of October look for everyone? The cabins at Perry are $45 a night that time of year and say they sleep up to 4 people each. $20 to sleep inside for the weekend wouldn't be bad at all. I just have to make sure my thunder buddy Chris is going to be there in case it storms Quote
