We've barely had any rain in the last few weeks, and i plan on fishing the river tomorrow. what works best for really shallow, clear water. for some reason i'm thinking a jig or t-rigged craw, but i could be way off.

Some spots less than a foot, there are a few deeper areas (i estimate to be 1-3 feet) and i tried those last time with absolutely no luck

I wouldn't use a jig. Definitely bring some finesse gear though

i've got some tubes, baby paca craws, and yum dingers, think those would do the trick?

The only places I've ever had luck with tubes is rivers so I think they work... Some people swear by them for small mouth.

I also considered a weightless fluke, but threw one for 2 hours last time without one nibble

If you aren't catching fish in rivers with the baits you said you are using, you aren't fishing in the right places.

Are you trying to fish from the bank, floating or wading?  You have to be able to get to the few spots that concentrate the fish during low flows.

No reason why Triged plastic craw or finesse worm won't work, down size even more if you need to .. Small Pins minnow or even roadrunners... Hopefully you got fish in those holes!

I would definitely say a T-rigged craw. Fished a lake earlier this year, and all the bass were holding in less than 2 feet of water and we hammered them on T-rigged craws and worms as well as poppers. Two biggest bass came from about 6" of water on a popper.

Finesse gear is a good idea, but the first statement is false. Iv caught 4 pound bass on a 5/16 oz. jig in less than two feet of water. My PB is just shy of 6, and was landed on a t-rig in about a foot and a half of water.

Topwater. Walkers, buzzbaits.. just cover water. Slow down with a popper if you need to. A wakebait or a weightless fluke would be my only other options. Water that shallow I would not finesse fish, I'd just make long casts and keep covering water.

A fly. If you don't have a fly rod, put a split shot about 6'' above the fly. One of the best flies to use for all around fishing is a dark green wooly bugger. Good luck!

i'm definitely gonna start out my trip with a buzzbait to search areas. if i get a few missed fish, i'll at least know they're there and go to plastics
