I've only used tubes a couple times and it was in rivers only, I was just wondering if you can Texas rig these, it seems like with them being hollow bodied it wouldn't work right.

Slip the tube over a grub, use attractant for lubricant and T-rig, it's called a cap & grown.

Yes ~

And Gamakatsu makes an excellent hook called a Skip Gap hook that works quite well.

Trigging works fine.  I especially like to do it and have a bell sinker inside the tube.  That is the most weed less way I have found to fish it.

Thanks guys, I'll try it out next time I get a chance to!

What size hooks do you like for them? They have a hollow body so it seems like you wouldn't need a big hook, am I correct?

Depending on the size of the tube bait - 2/0, 3/0 & 4/0 work.

Hi Catch and Grease,

If you want to T rig a tube it works best to get the ones with the solid head.  This will help keep the hook where it belongs.  The Trokar Tube Hook, and  the Owner twist lock flippen hook all work well with a solid head tube.  So will a EWG off set hook.

I'm just gonna try EWG's for now then try the other ones, thanks

I use EWG hooks for tubes.  Biggest trick is finding a hook that has a big enough gap for the thick body of the tube, yet isn't too long so that it extends past the body of the bait.  Tom

x2 on the Trokar Tube hook.   Great for T-Rigging, Carolina Rigging and general weedless presentations.
