Hogsticker Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Which hook do you prefer when nose hooking fluke type baits? I was thinking a 1/0 Owner Mosquito hook. Looking for something sharp and fairly strong that won't kill the action. Thanks Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted June 25, 2014 Super User Posted June 25, 2014 Depends ...For something in the super fluke a #1 or 1/0 Owner Mosquito would work ...For a super fluke jr. I would drop down to #2 or even a #4. Quote
Hogsticker Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 Not drop shooting. Just twitching sub surface. Sorry Quote
Super User MCS Posted June 25, 2014 Super User Posted June 25, 2014 I use a 1/0 owner wacky hook for super flukes. 1/0 will not kill the action and hook ups are not missed. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted June 25, 2014 Super User Posted June 25, 2014 I use a Gamakatsu #221311 In-Line Circle hook. I use the smallest size they offer in that design, a 1/0. This hook is a bit on the heavy side and is forged, so it's extra strong. I crimp down the barb and have used this hook for almost all my off-bottom presentations. Very reliable. Quote
Super User Raul Posted June 25, 2014 Super User Posted June 25, 2014 For a Super Fluke ---> 3/0 Owner Mutu Light hook, Even though it sounds very big it´s actually not, the hook is quite small. Quote
