How do you feel when kids ask you fishing questions when you are fishing like if they are fishing as well and they ask for help or advice, its happend to me a decent amount of times and im always willing to help others out with any advice I can give or any knowledge I can share, but that isnt always the case with some people, because some people are quite rude, and dont like to share any info.

I share anything I can. We all have one thing in common: the thrill you get when you hook into a fish. Why not help someone share that excitement. Unless you're fishing in a tournament, it's not a competition.

I'm the opposite lol. I've gone as far as reaching into my tackle box and handing someone a mister twister I have rigged up and telling them to try it.

Same here... A mother had her two sons out one day at a local hole.  They were catching bream/bluegills on bobber and worm, and saw me throwing white grubs and asked some questions.  Berkley powerbait 3 inch white grubs I recall.  I had an extra pack, gave it to them and showed them how to rig one and different retrieves.  Who knows, maybe they try them one day and catch fish...

I like to help people but some people don't like to take advise, but that's life. I totally love taking advise from older crowd. The older people have the best advise and they have been fishing for years so the experience is there. I don't like to take advise from younger crowd. They usually don't know what their taking about and they think they know more than everybody. I blame myself as well but my hardhead will accept it one day. ill take advise from older person because they have the experience to back it up. They also fished in what i called the fishing golden era, the 60s,70s and 80s

Last week I went to a favorite spot and there were already a lot of people there. This kid saw me using a baitcaster and asked me how it worked. He seemed well spoken and respectful so I kinda showed him and cast a few times. He said he had a baitcaster in his parents van so I had him go get it and showed him how to use it. It was a quick lesson and hopefully it will help him and he doesn't forget my instructions. Driving home it kinda made me feel pretty good.

Kids are the future of our sport. I will go out of my way to help them any chance I get when they have a question. I used to teach fishing classes, have been a mentor to several younger kids, and was a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sister and fishing was about all my "Little" and I ever did. I also credit fishing as being a large part of why I was able to stay out of trouble when I was a kid.

I'm still a bit of kid, but I try to help when I can! I've had plenty of help from others and I like to give back when I can!

Depends in the kid...i enjoy helping kids learn to fish but if they are nasty little things they get little help...ill give a kid that will listen anything i can to help them.

I however will not loan them any lucky craft lol

If someone asks me of course I'll give them tips.  I have no problem with that, like others..we all have something in common, that is why we are all out fishing.

Up here bass fishing is somewhat of a novelty. After a day of trolling for Walleyes, kids tend to gravitate towards all the action of casting over and over. So when they ask me about bass fishing, I'll help if they are respectful and truly interested. I did give a hollow body frog to a nice young kid last year and he told me this spring that he got several more for Christmas.

If I come across kids that are eager to learn, I'll help. I'll even toss em some soft plastics! I'll also help when they look discouraged. Some people I wont help, and will avoid if they look like they have attitudes.

I absolutely love it when kids ask me questions while I am fishing.  I always try to be polite and answer their questions with age appropriate answers.  My grandson has outgrown his Shakespeare Spiderman rod and reel so I always take that with me when I go fishing.  If the parents allow it I set it with an earthworm and let the kids try fishing.  Luckily we have lots of small fish here who go right after a worm and the kids generally enjoy it.

That is a good question.  I'm not sure if I like myself if I answer this question brutally honestly.  So, I avoid this question for the most part.  I fish during the week, when most other people are working.  I tend to fish my myself.  I tend to fish away from the docks.  I tend to avoid, for the most part, other fishermen when I'm on the water.  I'm polite, but I don't initiate conversations when I am loading/unloading the boat.

I'm not real comfortable around children, I'll let the education of the future generation of fishermen fall to those who are, & I'm good with that.

I love helping other anglers. Makes me feel good. Im a person who cares. When it comes to tournament days, I WILL not help others.

I bass and peacock fishing alone, I seldom run into anyone but when I do I'm helpful.  I do spend every morning at the ocean, we get kids, vacationers, newbies here year round.  My little group of home boys are always giving away lures, if asked show some of the people how to catch certain species.  Pretty common for me to hand my rod over when I have fish on the line, let some else have the thrill of something they never caught before.  Most of the time I tell people other good areas to fish as well.
