Hey BR,

I am going to vacation in Napa early August and I was wondering if any of you had a recommended guide for Clear Lake. I am not bringing any of my tackle, so I am hoping to get out with a nice guide that has all of the tackle provide, and has great knowledge of the lake....without paying a premium.

Let me know! Thanks,

VC

I appreciate you throwing my name in the mix. August is a great time to come up to Clearlake, the frog bite is BOOMING!  I can be reached at 707-514-9704 if you've not yet locked in a trip. I'm not sure I have much availability left but if not, would be happy to recommend other quality guides that might.

Its a great time of year, you definitely need to find a way to get out there!

Matt, if your to busy, I was told Johnny Peral Has now gotten his guide lic. (John told me). I'm not sure if he's left for Cornning yet? He said he had a few trips on the Sac. for line sides & salmon. Ph.# 707-536-3984 Excellant Clear lake angler and also river guide.

StarCraft, Talking to him a few weeks ago it sounded like he was down on the river now. As far as I know he plans to be bass fishing in the late fall/winter but am not 100% sure when he's coming back up. Pearl is a good dude and can stack the fish!

He uses my jigs along with about 6 or more other sticks on Clear lake. Johnnies in Corning right now and had at least 4 trips booked. From what I've heard as of yesterday, no salmon yet (dinks don't count) but the line side action is on fire. Went down to Scotty's landing and landed 10 or 12 on a "tremor" (chatterbait type lure) 1 oz. white/shad colored with a big stainless blade. Not much in size - 1 keeper, but a lot of action. From what I saw on the news last night, the water levels on the river are high enough now for the run to come up. Called Haps in Rio Vista and same story down there. Big striper run - no salmon yet (shakers but no big hens) As far as John goes, I've got to get some of these baits to him to try out. I'd like to get his opion on them.
