playmaker47 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Headed out to Butler State Fishing Lake early yesterday morning with jrsmith_80 who was nice enough to take me out on his boat. First time I had ever been to this lake. It is a fantastic little lake. I have never fished lily pads as this is definitely a rare thing for a western or central Kansas lake. Air temp was in the 70s first thing in the morning and ended in the low 90s around noon. Water temp was 81. We started the day out throwing frogs and buzzbaits around the pads. We each picked up a fish fairly quickly in the morning with a few topwater misses as well. I caught a couple smaller ones pitching a BPS stik-O worm and a pb&j colored jig. We then picked up a few more fish in the weeds throwing spinnerbaits at the end of the day. Not a bad day fishing and only my 2nd video since getting my new GoPro, and first video from a boat! 1 Quote
